Instead of binning these boxes I'm gonna send one off to a repair service for £10. I'm guessing a windows machine ain't gonna get into it. Possibly a Unix with some hex editor to adjust the firmware boot parameters. I've done this with sd cards to make a goldcard, thanks to the developers.

Good luck---but I've been in this game a long time plus I work on the boxes for the company and your idea seems pointless but each to their own.

i have f5s clone maybe because missmatch upgrade... are u sure this work?

Hi reaper

I have a f5s - not sure if it's a clone or not.

The box constantly reboots randomly on any channel inc FTA.
Move tried another power supply but the issue remains.
Tried different firmware from the official website and still no joy

Any ideas?
 
can someone help.. i have skybox f5s..try upgade using usb stick but failed "MISSMATCH" upgrade using cable rs232 with official firmware skybox.cc..but failed.. now my box not working anymore always so error "E0001" please help :(
can someone give me correct firmware

i tried unbricking it with latest skybox f5 firmware but didnt work

im assuming its clone but need help with getting firmwares

Hi thanks for info to reflash the F5,

I've made several attempts and experienced various errors mentioned by others. Eventually I managed to reflash the box.

Box still experiencing issues with loading, it either keeps resetting or gets stuck wile loading.

The furthest I've managed to get is the box loading , and even got to see the menu but then it resets, and same issue with loading.

Now stuck on L100

Hope you can help?

Ok I got progress, box loaded properly after switching on and off on few occasions.

Which satellite do I use to search for channels?

I managed to get the boxing working properly andreceiving channels, but I keep experiencing freezing when switching between channels, the box then fails to respond and needs to be switched off by taking the power cable out. When I switch it back on it doesn't always load properly.

If you have a gift/line then you have a server.
You need to get a new plug and lead [psu] and that may cure your load/reload problem.

Thanks reaper, I meant do you think it's a bad server, as it keeps freezing on channels? I then have to unplug and go through the load issues again

Could be a bad server so try asking for a test line from forum but it could also be the psu but a testline will tilt you in right direction.
