You need the correct RS232 null modem cable with the prolific usb adapter.---you need to also load the drivers for that cable plus locate the correct com port to be used. Now you need the right erom upgrade tool and correct firmware file for your box.

That is just an adapter to turn a standard rs232 cable to usb ---you need an RS232 null moden cable with a prolific adapter or the Null modem cable with the built on adapter---all cheap on the bay.

The cable will be perfect but no one can guarantee that your box will revive-------what is exactly wrong with your box.

Well it's worth trying to fix but don't get your hopes up, I've never had a box with the noise problem.

Yes tried used and tested on hundreds of skyboxes, Libertviews, openboxes,technomates, dreams and freesat just to mention a few.I have actually used on 3 boxes today plus if you read back thru this thread you will find lots more of my antics.
