I can't get it to the "done" stage so the downloading won't start.

hi see when i connect the box to my comp and run the program after its connected it keeps saying stb memory error instead of downloading plz help.
 
Ok this is the boxes last chance before I resort to the starview fix :yesno:

I tried Kremmen's suggestion of moving the FIFO settings in the advanced settings of device manager
but got a message about administrator / registry privileges so I couldn't get into advanced settings (windows 7 on my home computer)

Used an old computer at work connected directly to the null modem cable and the box flashed first time.

Still went into a boot loop though. Firmware was the latest version taken directly from the skybox site.

Flashed again, firmware version was used on about five F5 boxes a couple of years back, all genuine boxes,
four are still working.

Box still going to a boot loop.

Seems I have all the bases covered so far and still no joy, any last suggestions or the box gets it !!! LOL

Does the box boot all the way to L100 before rebooting, or does it reboot at L097? If it's L097 then the box might be a clone. Are you absolutely sure that it's a genuine box?

hi folks, I had skybox f5 for few months. Yesterday while watching telly the box just stopped working completely, no lights or anything on the box. I have checked the power cable with voltmeter and it is supplying 12 volts, but the box is gone dead, can someone please guide me on the options I have? many thanks in advance for your support.

Hi guys here's my story so far 2 boxes Libertview V8 and s*ybox V8 both stuck on LOAD. Used converter cable and after some 3 nights research and computing got both boxes up and running but now unable to get into menu or any favs and the sub titles stuck on so might as well still be stuck on LOAD! As I can't get into menu I'm unable to do anymore.
Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thinking of buying new ones or paying someone to fix them!!
 
Hi folks, my f5s bricked during a recent channel list update attempt so i've read through what i need to do and just need to be able to access the erom upgrade tool as my cable has arrived now. Wish me luck!

I noticed the clone firmware link is out of date so hoping mine isn't a clone!

The box is working !!!! :mexican:

It was counting to 100 then looping, it was a genuine box.

The problem was the psu, took it into work tested it and it was showing just under 18v instead of 12v

Used a psu from a working box and it stopped looping, so will order a replacement 👍

What do you mean by the bit in bold? What actually happens when you press the menu button?

As for subtitles, press the subtitle button on the remote (if you have the 51 button ytpe) or press the M/P button (if you have the 39 button remote), then select SBT.

Hi friend, don't know how the bold thing happened! The remote when I hit menu hides the picture and keeps the subtitles on the screen but won't do anything else. The m/p button doesn't do anything when pressed so don't know whats going on.
