Did upgrade on two f3s' one work the other cant power on except for flashing lan port any reason y

Hi All

I was trying to flash bricked skybox f3 that was stuck in the Lo97 Loop with firmware from skybox.cc but to no avail, Tried all, thinking now i have a clone,
Link to clone download is down, so had a idea since i bought 2 boxes from same guy maybe other one is clone too, so i made image file from other box on to usb,
put image,abs on to pc hooked up null cable too box , ran eprom upgrade , burned image and yippee box now back working... if
anyone is have the same problem..email me for link to file. Regards
 
I've an Openbox v5s....not getting the word done no matter how much I change the port settings in device manager. When I power on the box it just stays as it is not saying done....

Any ideas guys?

When i plug power lead in it turns on but just doesnt say done....
 
Mr Bailey---we have just gone thru this argument, please don't send members off site to non-recognized sites.
Everything is here within the forum.
If someone wants something and can't find then ask and we will assist.
This is better for all unless someone wants a dodgy file or virus from outside source.

ou need a null modem cable with a prolific usb adaptor [read back to kremmens posts]
You may have the right cable etc but are you sure you have installed the drivers?
Erom upgrade tools and files are free to download from recognized manufacturers sites---www.skybox.cc and yojia.com.
If you have difficulties and can't locate the help needed already in this rather long thread then please just ask.

Bloody Skyboxes !!!

Trying this on an old but genuine F5, can't get the thing to flash.

What's annoying is the USB cable has the prolific driver, I can move it between com ports
and it is picked up in device manager on the computer.

The null modem cable was used to flash KV boxes back in the day so it's the right lead.

I have firmware from an identical box which is working so that is also correct.

Will have to find a PC with an RS232 socket !! :madsware:
 
Bees--I have a firmware file from a russian forum that has been used on laptops and desktops to ignite the F5 ready for the official firmware.
It's up to you if you want to try it.
I've used it on a few members bricked boxes but you always take a chance and as you know "I'm not responsible"lol.

@bees...at which point are you having problems?

Have you tried changing the rx & tx buffer sizes in the advanced settings, as in the first post?

I had to do this to get my prolific adapter working.
