I have joined today as I have found this thread very useful and I have just recovered my F3 box by the null modem method. Thank you all and Techkings. My problem occurred when I had done a scan and got stuck. When I switched off and put on again, there was no power.

My box got stuck on load so I bought a rs232 cable and a usb adapter followed all the instructions but couldnt get it to work... Eventually switched the company port, Port 7 worked for me. Might help someone

Morning all, I have just flashed a F5S, it boots up then gets stuck on the robot. I can't get the menu up as only the power button and tv/stb button are working. Any ideas peeps ?????

Hi i updated my channel list now its stuck on load, i dont have a connection so should i buy a usb to serial cable, which cable should i buy?

After bricking a box for the second time in two weeks, I sent it straight to reaper this time rather than trying to fix it myself like the first time.
Within 2 days from sending the box off to him it was back working with all the new firmware and channel lists on,
This guy is an expert!

You will find all f/w that you need either within this thread, downloads section or at skybox.cc, or just google.
You will need a null modem cable and a USB adaptor if using a laptop---all available on net.

Sorry reaper i have tried to locate it but can't find how to run config.bat before uploader when i click on config files it just says do you want windows to search for a programme to open the file .
i know its a bit annoying but bare with a thick old man 👍

Old man!!! you are a teenager compared to me:pop smiley:---- set your box up and open erom tool--then before you open loader click on config.bat and voila it opens and closes [just like that]. It's never worked for me but perhaps Kremmen or somebody wise might jump in here and elaborate on the subject.

I couldn't wait for my order, so i just melted my own RS232 cable. Had some adapters left. Hopefully the E001 error will be fixed after flashing. And thank you very much for this tutorial!
