Make sure that you are actually downloading PVR800 & not iLivid downloader.

The PVR800 download is the smaller Download icon under the larger iLivid Download icon.

cheers kremmen downloaded ok, it's probably a daft question but the cable that goes from my printer to the computer looks exactly the same as the RS232 it wouldn't be the same, would it?!!

What type of printer do you have?

Most modern printers connect to the pc with a USB A to USB B lead. The older printers used the 25 way parallel (printer) port to a 36 way centronics connector. I haven't seen a printer that uses the 9 pin serial connector, & if it did it would be a straight-through type, rather than the crossed (null modem) type.

The lead needs to be a 9 way female to female null modem type, with pin 2 -3, pin 3 - 2, & pin 5 - 5.

Same problem for me ... did a channel scan, got to the end of that then no response. Pulled the plug as that was the only option. Now nothing but a faint red LED and a faint number "8" in the display. Off to eBay to search for a cable!

dead sky box

hi guys im havin trouble gettin sky box to work.just has faint red light on and wont poer up with remote.im guessing its bricked but not being tech minded im stumped...
