Hi i'm having same issue on my f5s stuck on L100 when booting up , made error when install channel list ( didn't delete channels first in settings just updated)
tried using both erom_upgrade_8Mflash & Upgrade_PVR800 HD Tool with firmware usb backup dump from second f5s stb......but still hangs : synchronizing stbs... please reset target !!!!!!
been hours now trying to sort it ... checking ports settings ,restarting pc & reading loads of Tuts / forums
i ordered new null modem cable of ebay so will let yous know the out come in a couple of days

*****update 2/05/14*****

hi, new null modem cable arrived, bought from eBay £2 .
USED erom_upgrade_8Mflash & SKYBOX_F3S_3601HD_CMT_1307040584.abs firmware
followed tut (page 1)
clicked next waited 6 sec and switched on box and it worked !!!
... it flashed successfully then i restarted box once more just in-case and installed via usb a backup dump i'd made from friends slybox ....and then everything was back as before
if you haven't got backup dump just upgrade to latest firmware/ ajs channel list / install c-line

F5s stuck on load

Hello
I recently downloaded a channel list from a site and tried to load it. I then switched off to reset the box as instructed and have now got the
box stuck on load on the front screen. Can i clear this myself or should it be binned??

Before putting on a new channel list ALWAYS delete all channels first via the menu,then upgrade via usb,USE ONLY TRUSTED CHANNEL LISTS AJSAT OR SATTV5,WAIT untill 100% complete,EXIT out of all menus you should get message no channels available. ONLY THEN REBOOT SKYBOX.
They are very hard to bring back to life after a flash fail. Some have done it most have not very hit and miss via rs232 and null modem cable.
Always wait for the official ajsat/sattv5 new lists to come out otherwise other messed around channel lists may have been put back together with faults and causes flash fails.

can any1 help plz ive followed all the steps but its coming up wrong file when I click on next to flash box

How do you know which is the correct port?
Or is it trial and error?
 
wrong file

You would think going by instructions it would seem pretty easy. But I select abs file, press next and it says wrong file. Anybody know why this is happening?
 
Hi all, I have tried several different abs files now. But every time I try to download it then says 'stb memory error' click back and try again...

Has any body else had this issue?

Feel like just throwing the heap of junk In the bin...
 
hiya am a newbie when trying to fix my skybox f3 through rs232 cable with upgrade tool it says synchronising stb s please reset target but can here laptop connect when I turn box on can anyone help please
 
Hi guys, Can you use an RS232 to USB cable for the upgrade?, and I got the Erom Upgrade Tool but when I try to run it it says wrong file and I selected the .abs file Is this because I did not connect the box to the computer, I was just checking If the software runs good but It did not work so I just want it confirmed if the sotware only works when the box is plugged in Thank You.

I've got a skybox f5s which is showing the dreaded LoAd word. I've got a 9 pin serial USB as I've only got a laptop so I'm hoping everything will be ok.
I've read the guides & I'm going to give it a go.
I'll let you all know how I get on.
 
I've tried two different null modem cables, and both connect using the clone firmware updater. Neither will connect with the official software, it just says "stb memory error".
I have tried lots of different firmwares for my F5, even the F5s firmwares to see if it would make a difference. All firmwares download, and then reboot the box, and then hang at L093, then go to E001 after a short time.
I guess I just haven't found the right firmware yet?

Edit to add:
The red LED on the front barely glows, and there are no lights on the ethernet adaptor. I'm guessing its knackered?

After several attempts I unbricked my F5s with
Skybox F5s 130801 file
Erom Upgrade 8m Flash

I tried different USB slots and check all drivers for Usb Serial Converter plus I fixed a RS232 cable to the box then connected the USB Serial converter to the RS232 cable and YES it works

Please can someone help. My skybox f5 got stuck on load during a channel update. I keep getting the "wrong file" message when trying to install the software using the rs232 cable. I have also tried the Erom upgrade, but i then get the "synchronizing stbs please reset target" message. I would greatly appreciate some help on this
