Recover Dead Skybox Flash Using Serial RS232 Null modem Cable

have tried other links to a file download as I couldn't gain authority on here . Seemed to follow all the above steps and was hopeful......but keeps saying ....wrong file ! ???? any ideas please !!

Hinchy65 are you putting eromcleint as the file, cause you will get wrong file message.

Really sorry pal.....I really appreciate your help, but I'm a complete novice at this....have followed the step by step guide at the start of this thread and when I get to the point after 'browse' it offers me 2 files....both called eromclient...no other options ?

Same here mate only had my box 3 weeks managed to kill it, I followed the guide and had the same problem you are having. So instead of picking that eromclient file I downloaded the skybox firmware for my box. so when you click on browse choose skybox firmware then follow the instructions.

Morning all.......I've got right thru to the download section, but as I reset target, after a few seconds a message says Set STB memory error click back to try again..........I have tried again, and again, and again !!!

Despite what a lot of tutorials tell you, you don't need full handshaking. These boxes only use 3 wires (RX, TX & GND). Any null modem cable will work (although most, if not all, are full handshaking types anyway).

Not looking forward to having to try kick my box out from load with the null cable i can only see problems coming my way when i get the cable next week , iv flashed it maybe 6 or 7 times over the months with the new channel list first time iv had this problem , i suppose if i can get it to come back from the dead its good to know it can be done ,

Hi guys sorry for bleating but i have the same problem file scrambled channels and no steady server for the cccam file i'm hoping that you can help and recommend a steady server and a maybe point me in the direction of a tutorial for flashing and re installing cccam file??
