Recover Dead Skybox Flash Using Serial RS232 Null modem Cable

had the stuck in load erroron my f3 box
tried various files to reflash ended up using the f3abs file for a clone box and this worked for me the file is in the download section
is it right that i now have to load a channel list back onto box thanks
 
having just done a software upgrade, the box is no longer even saying load, but the ethernet light comes on? Any ideas?
 
I have been trying to update my skybox f6 using RS232 but getting an error wrong file. kindly assist me with the skybox f6 load and the abs file to load.

please kindly assist with the skybox F6 rs232 upgrade tool and the abs. file, I have been trying to update getting error wrong file. any ideas?

You prob need the f3.abs file for a clone box my box was doing the same the file is in the download section it fixed my f3 box good luck
 
i got a skybox f5s on sat working fine all weekend then cam to mon turned it on now it is just stuck on load, so going to try this software thank you for the info .
 
Hi ive opened this up an tried putting it throught mu f3s but when i click next it says wrong file please any help as my kids are missing there tv any help please pm thanks

can you use a usb to serial cable to do this I have that plugged into null modem cable but keep getting synchronizing stbs please reset target am I doing something wrong or is it the cable

when it says synchronizing stbs please reset target then just plug power in -- as thats what its looking for

I have turned the power and it just says stb memory error

ok so in the pull down menu choose dump and hopefully will clear memory then use the other file to flash
