hi mate thanks i got there in the end, dont know what firmware i got on it but its alive!! how do I check if my f5 is a clone then?

i found that when u try to flash a clone with genuine firmware it says wrong file lol

yes its a software and using a serial lead u can reload the firmware to factory reset see page 1

Hi bobless..i have a skybox f3 and its been working fine for over a year..somethings happened n now its like it has no power to it..no lites turn on nothin..i have checked the fuse but not that..so wanted to try recover it using rs232 any help would b appreciated

i am using a usb in laptop com port 7 to rs232 in f3 box how hard can it be to reflash a box arhhhhhh
might need to find a old computer with a rs232 ?

it means u have a clone so u need other firmware Skybox Clone Mismatch error - Downloads - TechKings

try using the dump in the drop down first. then do a flash

I have downloaded this firmware upgrade for the skybox F3 and F4 please note that this firmware is for non-original skyboxes if you are in doubt then please do not use.
I have also included the RS232 null modem upgrade tool, again use this at your own risk.

1. First file is for Skybox F4
2. First file is for Skybox F3
3. First file is for RS232 upgrade tool
