I pick my own stick up later and looking forward to getting it linked up to my E2 box which i part of the reason i bought it.

Is this any better than the onn box from the USA or a 4k Google chromcast just curious as I have both but always interested in something better?

I'd say it is better than onn box
As this is 16gb not 8gb

Lack of storage on some models
Amazon are building their own OS which may be naff. Atleast android tv os has been around for a long time

Everyone is probably thinking the same’ for me I’m going to ditch fire sticks should of done it a long time ago becoming too restrictive for my liking the device is not your own you are the product since blocking launchers/remote adb connections what will be their next move 🤔

Understood, I have never used anything other than a FS because I have not felt the need to. I am running Syncler and TiviMate basically flawlessly. I was just wondering if there was another reason for the other purchases. Were you experiencing any issues other than them locking the device down more? I would possibly be interested in trying out a new box if you all want to suggest one. Keep in mind I am in the USA. ----P.S what are you using the extra storage for? I have never downloaded anything via firestick just because I have other methods of storage..

I reported to the factory the issue with itvx and it was checked by them and is now being looked into in terms of finding a solution as ultimately if this can be sorted more devices can be sold by them to uk market.

In last 2 weeks alone i have spent over £3k with them on Gd1 sticks and have also dealt with them numerous times over the years buying other devices etc so I have good relationship with them hence I have a few decent promo videos for the device and other videos from factory.

Wanted to update u so u know they are looked into itvx issue

The thing is they’re is no Hdr options in display settings to turn it on or off’ when the device was first setup yesterday it was on auto resolution which was set at 1080p 60 with Hdr but if i manually select 2160p 4K Hdr is off

Try playing some HDR content and see if your TV switch’s into HDR mode.

unless it’s stuck on adaptive’ when it’s set to 1080p hdr is on permanently but if I select 4K hdr is not on’ I can only tell when I press the info button on my Samsung tv remote.

I don’t have the device you are using but I have HDR and DV set to adaptive, so when I play HDR or DV content my device switches into the correct format and also my TV does the same. I don’t have either format set to on always for my Home Screen.

If anyone is interested in getting some catchup working on the GD1 try kodi I’ve managed to get a official kodi add on called viwX based on itvX’ there maybe others too for bbc etc will have to look 🤞🏻

Aint used kodi for years but at least there is enough storage space on the device.

Anyone's gd1 seem to lock up sometimes. then it goes off then comes on and it's a little glitchy for a while. ?..

Mines done it twice after it being switched off for a while 😕

Noticed it's slow at loading film covers in vod folders too. Firestick usually as them all opened. This opens a row at a time slowly
