Hi is it possible to upgrade from OpenATV 5.1 to 5.3 without loosing all the settings I have and build from wooshman

Thanks

Backing you your settings stop you from losing what you have already, but WooshBuild for 5.3 is not released yet so you would have to do the building yourself. Or you can wait a little while until WooshBuild v4 is released.

Auto scan isn't giving me the option to scan Tuner B. Sorry:whacko:

Have a look through Kiddac's barebones guide as this uses the method you are using: http://www.techkings.org/zgemma-star-2s/84949-bare-bones-openatv-new-setup-guide.html

I don't have the remote at the moment to give you button presses. If you have tuner B enabled though the option is there somewhere.

I need post count 1 before I can download this.

And this really isn't the place to make your first post. Now please go an introduce yourself in the introduce yourself section instead of arriving and trying to download as the first thing you do.

Hi,

I am flashing a Zgemma Star 2s following the guide ans get as far as Step 4 where I am trying to Flash Online/Local - each time I press the green button I get the error
'Not enough free space on /hdd!! You need at least 300mb free space. Exit plugin

I have tried two separate usb sticks and get the same error.
Strangely enough I have looked into mountpoint management and there are no mountpoints on the receiver. Surely I would see the usb drive mounted once I have initialized it and created the swapfile?
the usb device is detected /media/sda1 so i'm not sure what the problem is?

thanks

edit: the usb2.0 Kingston Datatraveler is mounted type:ext4 R/W

After you flashed with the base build and swapped your drive, did you initialise the new drive? Then try and download the image you need

Wooshbuild will give you everything you need, it's simple enough to install if you follow the instructions, I know people keep mentioning vix on here but to be honest it is not officially supported on these boxes and you can't run the updates, wooshbuild uses open ATV, and this is the software built for these boxes.

Thanks for response.

Yes, initialised it.
I'm using the same USB stick as only had one available.
When I flashed the base build I put the box into deep standby and then took the USB pen out.
I then took the box out of deep standby and reinserted USB stick and resumed instructions I.e. initialising and creating swap file.

Wasn't your base build drive fat32 then? That's the usual thing then you use another drive and convert to ext3/4 erc

The base build is loaded ok. I reinitialized the same usb stick and set up swap file. There is no mention of convert to ext3/4 in the notes - isn't that what the initialization effectively do? I will try tonight. thanks

Just check the mount it will tell you want the drive is mounted as. So each time you have flashed you have plugged it into your windows o/s and it has recognised it? Because if it was ext 3 then Windows would ask to format it

hi, it's mounted as ext4

hi, it's mounted as ext4

And when you try to flash online it tells you don't have enough space? Once initialised did you restart the box? I would think you did.
This is what I have when I have mounted , pic attached

Well that looks ok to me, is that after pressing blue button and looking at mount from there, have you just for shits and giggles tried to unmount it and then initialise again, I don't have a zgemma with me I just set them up for people, did you also reboot like Wooshman said
