A wooshbuild won't auto-apply OpenATV updates, it will it?

I'm seeing reports on here of the latest OpenATV 5.1 update buggering up boxes and am due to do an install for a mate on Tuesday... don't want to install woosh and then it pulls down the problematic OpenATV update and gets immediately foobarred.

No, it won't automatically update. Woosh is using a set version of OpenATV as base.

When you install wooshbuild basebuild it loads up the openatv 5.1 working build that is currently working.
It probably will not be the latest updated version of 5.1 as the 2S box is not constantly used for build/test work.
You can safely use this without any problems.
I generally test the openatv updates for the 2S and report problems back for wooshman to delve into but am currently away so haven't tested any for a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the build and your hard work!
After using VIX for couple years now i made the switch to wooshbuild few months ago and i have been all through the menus and cannot seem to find a fix for the following:-
Using EPG buttom on remote brings up the listings on wooshbuild (example whats on and what next) - however on vix EPG button was the bouqet ie entertainment movies blah blah and the up or down button on the remote was actually the listings ie whats now and next. basicly they just seemed to of switched around and im so use to the other way? is there a fix to swap them back or ami going to have to get used to this new way?
also 1 more thing on my channels on the listings where i can switch sideways to movies entertainment sports blah blah i have this..
-- Entertainment / -- movies / -- sports ( for example) how do i get rid of the (--)??
Any help from any1 on here would be appreciated.

In order to get the bouquets when u press EPG on the wooshbuild, press EPG as normal then press menu and theres a setting in this new menu that says show bouquets on launch. Cbange to yes and then green to save. Now exit back to live tv. Now when you press EPG youll be presented with the bouquet list first

OpenATV 5.1 updates

I will be surprised if there are any updates left for OpenATV 5.1 as it has been replaced by 5.3. The updates that were read about were for 5.3 and caused an issue with Tuner B, this has been fixed anyway and only lasted about 5 days.

OpenATV 5.1 Fully updated (at time or release) - this is because I can only update using what updates are available at time of release. Any updates after that are up to the user just like Windows, Android and other software, it can only be as up to date as when it was released.

The main thing to remember when using OpenATV on a zgemma box is that the zgemma boxes are fully support by OpenATV and over the air updates can be run without risk of causing booting issues etc.

Many thanks for your superb work here finally got it working after 12 hours ! couldnt sort the CCAM for some reason did a few things and somehow it now works but still not exactly sure what I did. Unfortunatley the BT Sports HD instructions doesnt work for me but I can live with it.

Could you please advise if you can recommend a Hard drive to go with the Zgemma say 500GB or 1 TB, I Bought a Toshiba 500GB and a cheap old 1TB and havent had any luck in getting them linked, It works currently with my 8GB TDK Pen drive but obviously I now want a bigger drive, Also which steps will I need to repeat to make my new hard drive work with the current set up ?

Well done, 12 hours must be a record.... it won't be the medal for fastest install time I am afraid but there will be a medal lol. Well done on getting it going.

As for your HDDs, I am not sure what you expect to happen when you plug one in. It replaces your current USB stick in he back but needs initialising first.

So with that said, plug a HDD into the front USB port and follow the first couple of instructions for initialising and creating a swap file. Obviously select the correct drive when doing it. Once done, deep standby your box, remove the USB stick in the back and plug the HDD from the front into the back. Turn on the box.

Hi all

so I have a new Zgemma 2s box witch I've flashed the the latest Wooshbuild through the easy guide on this site. I've imputed my N line using the usb cam importer and it's showing active. The problem I'm facing is that I've only got 22 free to air channels. The EPG is showing all the channels I was hoping for. Sky uk. But it's not showing the content of the channels. And when I select them to watch it's a black screen.

Has as anyone any idea what I'm doing wrong.

As as a side note I've received a host, username, password and des key but I can't see how or where to input this data or indeed if I have to at all.

id apreciate some advice from anyone who might know.

Chances are you.r dish is out of alignment.
Check the signal quality and strength of the channels you are getting.
Signal strength should be above 60% and quality above 80%

I found copying the file as it was sent directly to the root of the usb stick without changing anything ,and then using wooshmans cam importer works for me.
Be it C , N or MG Line

Resolution:

Line tested fine so was pointing towards the name of the file. As standard Windows hides file extensions of known file types so cccam.cfg was only showing as cccam

Spliff then, rightly so, added .cfg to the end of the file so he could see the file was called cccam.cfg but in actual fact Windows and the box saw the file with it's now real name of cccam.cfg.cfg

I got him to show files extensions for know files types and he instantly saw the filename was wrong.

A quick rename back to cccam.cfg and used the USB Cam Impoter and there were his paid channels. Job done.

For those of you who don't know how to show file extensions : How to show file types or extensions in Windows Explorer in Windows 7

Windows 10 is slightly different as you just have to click view (from a folder window) and then click filename extensions.

Windows 8 - pah, should have upgraded to 10 by now for free.

You know you can check for signal using the box?

Menu -> Setup -> Service Searching -> Signal finder.

You then use the left and right buttons to swap tuners.

ok so thats now sorted i'm getting a good sng of 98% and AGC of 99% for tuner A but only sng of 88% and AGC of 17% for tuner B
when i do a service scan i get 941 channels found be when i scan in signal finder i only have 10 channels 5 of which are channel 4.

out of the 941 channels i can see the channel in the EPG around 10% connect however the rest don't have any content.
which i think is around the same as when i first plugged the box in and followed the FAQ. so it looks like i'm now back where i first began.

wooshman will next update fix piccons cant for the life of me get them working they show if you choose channel from providers menu but not using the bouquets , build is great apart from that and the channel mix up niggles

This figures are find for both tuners A and B. If you want to do a scan like that go back to the Service Seraching menu and choose Automatic Scan. Do tuner A first and then Tuner B. Sit and wait for about 15 mins for each one. If tuner B is still only 10 channels let us know.
