You can move the Picons, EPG and swap file to a Micros SD card which will help speed it all up and leave the HDD for recording and timeshift.

Another option is turn off timeshift (the rewind live TV feature) personally the last thing I will ever do. On a whole though the build works fine on most devices.

Yeah done this. The only thing I am missing is being able to select a specific Bouquet eg Movies Music etc... will poke around on the forums as I am sure this can be done :)

Real noob question, where does the micro sd card go? Have one here but don't see anywhere in the box for it, even at the front?

Got Zgemma star 2s, checked all round it and can't seem to see sd card slot...maybe they don't have one.

Hi All , everything is working and the step by step guide is great , However can't seem to record from just says disk is full any ideas

Sounds like the usb you used for storage (that you initialised) is full and has no space to save anything else. What size of drive did you use?

Anyone managed to get a micro sd card working on this image?

Looking at th thread, Wooshman recommends at least 16gb. Not sure how you go about it as I am a newbie to this, but I think the best way is to get at least 16gb drive (bigger the better) and go back to the very start? Again, I am a newbie so better taking advice from the experts :)

Cheers, I'm trying to use a 64gb micro sd card at the moment.

Sorry, that reply was to jontoms post above. Sd card I am not sure. I have Zgemma star 2s which doesn't take the sd cards

Very simple to follow mate. If you are new to this.....Wooshbuild is recommended. He has done all the hard work for you.

@wooshman - I had to come here and post as i feel it is a necessity,

Im not a noob with anything with a CPU really as i develop software,
however after 2 days of receiving my zGemma H.2S ALL Sky channels turned to a blank screen and the 2TB HDD i was using for Timeshift etc is now bricked (took it back and swapped for a couple of flash drives instead,

I Joined this forum as i had planned on purchasing one of these miracle boxes, and had already bookmarked about 25 useful pages containing fixes, guides and anything relevant ready for the box arriving,
Your thread was one i saved, and boy oh boy am i glad i did, ... in fact might i say im extremely glad you even exist !

After trying EVERYTHING from everywhere else including sucemnsee's Vix, which also resulted in blank screens, I ended up on your thread, .. I wish to all that is holy that i had tried your thread first !!

So simple to understand, so easy to implement ... and apart from formatting one of my new USB sticks, it only took around 20 mins,
Hey god damn presto all channels fixed, Awesome skin already installed, .... and of course a VERY happy developer :)
You my friend ARE the man, and if not for you I would probably be hanging from a light fixture by now as there was no hair left to pull out LMFAO

Thank you from the bottom of my soul, just simply a life saver ! :woohoo:

There i think thats enough brown nosing, im off to watch some TV ........ F I N A L L Y !!!!
oh, .. BTW, my wife may now love you :
Thanks again for the simplest guide ive ever seen and saving the day
Regards
CJ

Use the Previous and Next button on the remote after pressing the EPG button. Or press the EPG button and then the TV button or press the TV button.

Put the Micro SD in the side, initialise is as per Step 2 and then read through the thread as I have put instructions on how to change the location of Timeshift, picons, swap file somewhere.

The 2S does not have a Micro SD Card slot, but you were answered with it being on the right as you are posting in the H2S thread.

I can't get past the initialization, it gets to 50% and sits there for about 5 minutes then quickly goes upto 99% then it fails.

I'm using a Samsung 64gb micro sd card.
