have a little problem help needed.

Used a free USB to do the build and followed to the letter, all working ok but seems slow on some things, i think its the crap cheap USB stick, how can i tranfer everything on the stick to a new faster stick (if plugged into pc is just asks to format it)

Many Thanks

All working at sorted. This box is so much quicker than my free sat hd box was!
I have a couple of questions, it there a guide to series link programs as the timers are not massively user friendly and not sure the wife will be able to work it! Also, the kodi direct, is this not proper kodi? I have a pc with kodi on it which reads all files from my NAS which I was hoping to get rid of and just use this instead, will it not so that? Is kodi direct really for streaming?
If so, is there a full fat kodi plug in or the box not powerful enough to run kodi?
Cheers.

I am also interested in the same information. Since the two programs that my daughter wants) happen to be back to back, I have changed the time before and time after to zero......

Cheers.

The PC asks to format it as it is now in Ext3 format which Windows cannot read. Feel free to format it again. You will get issues trying to initialise though as timeshift will start working on it.

Have a look through the last 10 or so pages as I am sure I have posted it recently. I know I have done it a couple of times somewhere so a forum search it the best thing.

Turn off timeshift or initialise in the front USB port then put it in the back. (With box off)

Hello again Mr Woosh ...
Just reflashed with version 3.02 from 3.01 (thank you for the continuing hard work) and I've got myself an issue .. I have several, but this one is zgemma h2s related :whacko:

After flashing etc, when I go in to software update, it tells me I have 2 updates available. I go through the motions of pressing the buttons to update, but it always comes back with installed or upgraded 0 packages, then if I go back in, the 2 updates are still there.

Help! ... any ideas on what obvious mistake I'm making this time? .... He says as he attempts to upload screen shots ... knowing fine well that he has probably just sent his holiday photos from Bognor!

Cheers

You have not made or making a mistake. The two updates will never be completed as those two items you see are locked. CrossEPG will break if you update it, Software manager allows WooshBuild to be flashed online. Update that and bye bye online WooshBuild updates.

A massive thanks Mr Wooshman for your brilliant work and easy to follow setup, maybe I'm missing it but I can't seem to find a way to search for a program in order to set it to record, is there a search box like on sky's epg as I can't seem to find one. Thanks

BogRat ... hit EPG button twice, then EPG Search (Yellow) New Search (yellow again), then type in what you're looking for and hit OK (green)

Yaayyy ... look at me getting my tech support on !

Wooshman i did a full reset and followed your new V3, its great many thanks for a super job :)

Can i ask, how can i fully back up the box after i have added all my own bits and bobs (like kodidirect plusgings and other plugins) so i can just send to another box (getting one for the father in law) save having to start all over again.

o and how would i use the backup to send to new box?

Many thanks

Stick a USB stick in the front (empty is best)
Blue button
complete backup
green button (USB)
Wait 5 minutes until it says operation complete
Exit right back to main TV screen
Remove USB

Putting it back on a box
Inster USB in front
Blue button
Flash online / Local
Yellow button (local)
Yellow button (devices)
Find the USB stick and select it, it will then show you the zgemma.zip file. You should be able to select that, then press green button to flash.

To test the above and your backup, you can actually backup your own box and then restore it again using the backup. If it works everything will look the same, if it fails you will get an error somewhere in the process.

:-)

Wooshbuild,

I done the above steps and have fallen on the first..

I got this far:-
On complete backup when press green for USB i get an error saying "NO USB-DEVICE found for backup!! To back-up directly to USB stick, the USB stick MUST contain a file with the name: backupstick or backupstick.txt

Any ideas?

I had this issue. I switched off box, removed HDD cables and reconnected. It seemed to do the trick.

elliot, I have two boxes to flash so lost patience and started from the basebuild Stage1.. About 10-15mins instead of 5 to set up boxes with my own configuration.. Might give the last box a go in a while with the complete backup way!

Two boxes now complete but using the Wooshbuild basebuild from scratch instructions as i seem to have problems with the complete backup process.

The instructions above presume you are using a separate USB stick than the one in the rear of the box. If you want to restore the backup on a different H2S you don't really want to be plugging and unplugging your normal USB in the back port as you will find the missus' head starts to spin round when she cant use the box properly.

Anyway, if you are saving the complete backup to the rear USB you need to select the red button for HDD and not the green button.

wooshman can you help with hdd issue? i have had the box up and running for a while but only had 4gb sanccruzer in the back for recording and timeshift(not near big enough i know) but my 2tb drive arrived the other day and i followed the instructions again from initialization part, seems to go ok, then i create swap and auto start etc. but after that i get this: 20160409_171925.jpg

I have restarted the box, tried a few times, the usb was tested on my laptop before starting and was working fine.

Hi all. Yesterday I ordered a Zgemma H2S from Zgemma.co.uk and am going to set it up using your instructions on page one. After looking through the forums I can't seem to find the answer to my question so apologies if it's out there. This is my first time using a box of this type (have installed and used KODI/XBMC for years on various Apple & Android devices) and I'm looking forward to getting stuck into it and learning. Will I need to acquire a line/cam/gift or whatever from another provider/server to enable me to watch premium channels or is everything I need included in the 7 steps? Just clicked on the highlighted cam_files.zip instep 7 and it takes me to the 'unauthorised' page. I take it this is because I haven't posted until now? Many thanks for all your hard work and patience.

Yes, had a clean USB stick that I hoped to do the backup on but without success. I assume that the USB in the rear of the box remained inserted while trying to backup to a new USB stick in front port. Very strange, as it look on paper simple to do! LOL

Well all I can say that I can flash boxes from the start using the original guide with my eyes closed!!

If the drive has initialised without an issue the swap isn't a massive problem. You can do it manually using a separate program on your PC called putty, or you can copy the swap file from the old USB to the HDD - again, you will need FTP, the computer network, dream explorer to do it. But it will continue to use the old one on the new drive.

Or you can say sod it, lets see how it runs without a swap file.

Is anybody having any issues with the box freezing? I can be scrolling through the EPG, letting it load the page fully then skipping another full page and occasionally I will get the blue loading circle pop up and then that is it. The box just freezes. Its happened twice in 3days now.

It is not a huge issue, however I am slightly concerned that me keep turning the box on and off with the rear button can't be much good for it?

Happening to me also. I have only had it installed since Wednesday and I think it's happened 6 times, all when using auto timer on epg. Apart from this it's brilliant.

This sounds to me like USB speed issues, others have found that by changing the make / model of the USB fixes the problem. Some USBs are not even worth using for txt file transfers, let alone timeshift, EPGs and recording.

Turn the timeshift off and see if that fixes your problem. If it does you are looking at the USB.
