WilloBuild WilloBuild OpenViX 6.6 Series

Got it into boot menu and flashed atv and then flashed open vix. Sorted it the end. Thanks for the help.

Only thing now when i reboot box im getting atv image but then goes to openvix/willo. Can i remove the atv image from showing?

The screen you're talking about is the splash screen I think. Does it just come on for a few seconds when the box is first powered on?

The splash screen usually shows the manufacturer's logo but some images overwrite it with their own custom image.

Aye shows open atv and then goes to openvix before channels appear

yes that can be easily changed splash.bin
for example Gigablue Quad uhd 4k. All you need is a folder called Gigablue with the quad4k subfolder on the USB stick and the splash.bin file in this folder. When STB reboots, just press the power button and the spash screen will be flashed, no need to download any firmware

I think this is the correct place to post - hopefully!

I have a M3U and url, name & password - how do I add these into the willowbuild config please?
I do not use willobuild but I think he has included Bouquets Maker xtream

Trying to install Willobuild on my Octagon SF8008, get so far and then I get a message saying "Error: cannot flash kernel, because no kernel file was found". Any idea how to fix this? Thanks

Depending upon what OS you're running at the moment, you should be able to flash ViX from the Image Manager/Flash Online option in the menu.
One of the coloured buttons should open the available distribution downloads. Might be yellow.

Thanks for the response Willo, I'm running Grogbuild at the moment. I'll take a look later.

From what you're saying I might be able to flash Vix from the image manager over the existing Grogbuild setup, then use your instructions and install Willobuild via putty?

Yup that will work

Just got back in and had a look at this. If I press the blue button on my remote control I can see an option for flash local/online image. If I press ok on this I get into a screen that says flash on the fly but have no options other than cancel (red) or expand (green). No other detail on screen. If I press green to expand it doesn't add anything to the screen???

I can't see anything else like Image Manager/Flash Online in any other menus. Is there anything else I can do? Thanks

Try changing skin. Menu… setup… Usage & GUI… skin setup

Change to default skin. If still don't see any images I think you can send the downloaded zip file to media, HDD, images. Then try to see if you can see it in flash on the fly screen or downloaded images screen.

Thanks, seems to have worked to an extent. I now see the following screen. If I select any of the MMC.zip files it just says are you sure you want to flash this image, makes it look like it will just flash ATV, not Openvix as I hoped?

Try sending the zip file as posted above

Thanks. Downloaded the latest Openvix release MMC for my box. FTP'd the file to the folder as you've mentioned but still don't see any change.
