Initialise = format

Before you format the storage device, issue this command and post the results you get.
df -Th

Maybe the storage device is not mounted.

Right click the file on your laptop and check the file size, if that is also 0 bytes, there's a problem with your download

You have to flash openatv 7.4 online otherwise you will lose the grogbuild/6.4 partition

Ok thanks. Will try flash online/flash on the fly through blue button and see if I can get 7.4 on another partition, then see if I can get Vix that way. Cheers
 
I think all of this may be to do with my 16Gb USB stick plugged into the back of my box. Tried to flash 7.4 online into both slot 3 and 4 of my box but get this error coming up. Surely 16Gb is enough for a couple of images?

Not sure what to do next without losing my existing setup? Also, what is define 6.3, is this required? Thanks

That was ages ago the stick will be full since then. Take the thing out of the box format it again then remount and initialize it in the box before flashing openatv 7.4. Its not rocket science.
 
Put your receiver into deep standby, remove USB stick, reinsert it, switch receiver on again.

Then run the command I posted earlier.

You need to have a mounted storage device. I am 99.9% sure a fat32 device can be used by the "flash online" process. But that is besides the point, you formatted/initialised it in ext filesystem before.

The advice to keep formatting the device without establishing it is a filesystem issue is misplaced.

Define 6.3 is the other operating system not E2 leave that alone.
 
Thanks everyone for your help. All up and running now, it was obviously the USB stick. A low level format, initialise then mount and it was sorted. Still couldn't get Vix through Open ATV 7.4 but managed to FTP the Openvix MMC after sorting the USB.

Just looking at things just now and wanted to know a couple of things, how do you get individual categories to show in EPG instead of all channels in a long list? I tried setting show bouquet on launch to yes but there is no change? Also, channel 5, 5star etc pixelate and sound jumps around a bit, anyone else get this?

In provider settings in AutoBouquetsMaker
Create main bouquet set to no
Create sections bouquets set to Yes

Thanks for answering. Tried that but still the same. Strangely when I press EPG on my remote I get Sky UK, FreeSat UK, Favourites (TV) and Last Scanned. Not sure why I have Sky UK and Freesat UK? Could be the problem.

It might help if you told us how you get your channels?
Not aerial or dish?
So just iptv then?
Have you enabled your provider epg in whichever plugin you use for iptv?

Apologies sorry. Just looking to set up Freesat channels through dish at the moment. Will get IPTV through Xstreamity. Cheers

and a screen shot can always help read Taking screen shots and uploading attachments to the forum
You need to go into Autobouquets again and check which providers just select freesat .
also in Autobouquetsmaker keep bouquets make sure none are ticked.
and you can also go to hide sections.
once you have set it up rescan
