Broadband Retentions leaving Virgin question - Price increase

I am glad I am leaving and going onto CityFibre with a 3 year fixed contract and no price increases.
More than likely leaving and going to youfibre myself. Speeds receive been crap, and during peak times even Netflix buffers. Can't dl a small couple of GB without the whole house getting affected.

There are quite a few Cityfibre suppliers when you look on their website.
These are a couple of deals I found and the companies get decent reviews on Trustpilot.
Also Octaplus offer a 3 year option but you need to phone up.

Interested to know if any members can comment on what they are like at renegotiating after 18m .

Check the terms on octaplus, no mid term price rises, but still goes up by CPI increase of 3.9% every April.
Had a look at their terms and conditions and I can’t find it mentioned
Also rang and asked and there is no cpi price increase.
The price stays the same throughout the duration of your contract.

On the virgin app , Early Black Friday deals
Offering me a free upgrade from 125mb to 250mb for 3 months then it increases by £6 . Tempted as it be Dec, Jan, Feb Bill will be the same now , and contract is up in March so notice will be going in on February. Only dilemma is they **** something up , like remove my current discounts

Any way check your VM app and offers
If you accept, Just to be careful they do not start you on a new 18 month contract !

Strange it is not stated in their terms and conditions and the guy on the phone either doesn’t know or bull shiting me to get a sale lol
£01.13 a month increase on £29 a month contract.
£50 Amazon vouchers pays for that.
My neighbour has just cancelled with VM and the best they could offer him when retention phoned him back was 500mb for £27 or 1gb for £33.
He is going with Octaplus and he is going to refer me and we get £25 bill credit each.

You will not see any difference day to day why bother.

It looks interesting and it keeps current discounts. I'm not going to go for it though as price rise in April will likely make it over £30.

I'm happy paying £21 for M125 and I don't need the extra speed for the daily use although it would be handy for downloading playstation games.

Can understand you not going for it . In still undecided as probably won't see much of a jump in service, but my contract notice will be going in on Feb so the actual £6 increase won't really be an issue nor the Apr price rise. Hopefully get a better deal elsewhere by then.

Just signed up for CityFibre 910mb through Vodafone.
I will see how it go’s as it goes live on the 25 November.

Why did you choose voda over octaplus, was it just because of the £45 reward ?
No because you got a £50 reward from Octaplus but in the end decided not to risk it with a smaller company and some of their recent trust pilot reviews put me off tbh.
Hopefully it will easier to get in touch with Vodafone if I have any issues.
Also worked out at a similar monthly payment.
