That's not the answer to the question 😂They'll call you and offer a deal before the cancellation date.
Personally, id wait, retentions will probably offer a better deal than your wife will as a new customer. After some advice. Our virgin contract ends on the 14th October. We are currently paying £68 for Broadband, Landline and phone. I called them to get a price on dropping the landline and tv but they want £72 just for the broadband. (Absolutely ridiculous)
I’ve cancelled my service with them and as I have to give 30 days notice, the service will end on the 24th October.
We are going to signup as a new customer in my partners name, but my question is when can we actually do the signup? I noticed when putting the postcode in that it says they may hold on sending equipment for a couple of days whilst the old account is settled. Is it worth her just signing up now, or hanging fire a few days? Or waiting until closer so the 24th?
Hoping someone who’s been through the process can offer some advice. Thanks in advance!
Don't sign up as a new customer because the real retentions will call sooner to the cancellation date. That's not the answer to the question 😂
I am thinking considering you just renewed contract you may have still have been perhaps still available to cancel within say example 30 days.I've just renewed ours at the start of the month, we had M250 increased to M350 with Volt, landline (not used), WiFi Max guarantee with 1 WiFi pod, at £26.
Went onto the online chat and basically said there's no way we can afford it when it increases to £56 and wanted to cancel. The chat agent asked me a load of questions about what we use our broadband for, how many devices etc. They then said our current package was best for us and offered renewal at £22.
Immediately accepted the offer!
I have done the sign up in a new name and it all went well.Yeah I’m aware they’ll probably call, but I can’t see them offering less than the £39.99 new customer offer for Gig1.
Cheers @Ferret. I’ll give it until a week before cancellation date for retentions to call, if not I’ll get the wife to signup.
I will say it was the fastest they’ve actually processed a cancellation for me. Last renewal I spent about 4 hours on the phone to different departments trying to cancel until they actually offered me a decent price. They clearly don’t want my money anymore 🤣
yes that is good if you have another option some don't have that hopefully you get a better dealVM Contract ends in March 25 currently paying £21.79 for 125mb, just had an email, "your contract is ending soon take advantage of this new 18m contract price will remain the same until march and then will be ".
