This has happened to me exactly. Was with them for years, couldn't offer me a better deal than a new customer so went through with the cancellation and now been in my missus name for several years. All I will say what may works for some does not always work for others,
I would realy like to hear from members that say ok cancle my contract and they never got back to them or at one time cancle and then have to open new account in example wifes name.
Yes but even when our contract was about to end and we did say cancle it we just signed up again still with same account holder and it was only £1 dearer and went from 250 to 350 MB but 18 month contract again. So we though that was ok.This has happened to me exactly. Was with them for years, couldn't offer me a better deal than a new customer so went through with the cancellation and now been in my missus name for several years.
Without me going through the whole thread again could someone post up the retentions phone number or whatsapp number please. I am trying to help my folks out. They were paying £33 per month for 125mb broadband and anytime calls which went to £35.00. There contract ends at the end of september. I have put the cancellation in as the best offer they could offer was £46.00 per month. I think thats too much although i know it includes anytime calls. With the cost of deals these days i think they should be paying around £33.00 per month or less. I think they have phoned my dad back on his mobile but he has not answered it yet. They also have my number on file as i am a authorised to speak to them.I spoke to someone in retentions today about my mothers Virgin and sorted it out. It was £37 a month before the April price rise increased it to £40.25p.
A new 18 month contract agreed at £33.25p a month, another result

Nowt they lostyou need to find offers from other companies that has more bandwidth and cheaper price, i went with youfibre 1gb £25pm for 2 years, told virgin to shove it they couldnt match it, just greed at the end of the day, how many £billion did they make last year, taking the pi55
Sorry not an option where we are, in our street i can get 64mb or 1000mb with virgin. In my dads street just under 40mb. Now within a few hundred meters openreach are upgrading our area to fttp. They are literally two street down. Sky offering broadband plus phone calls at £20 because of certain reasons. Only other option is 3 5g home broadband and i've already had that and not putting my family through that again.you need to find offers from other companies that has more bandwidth and cheaper price, i went with youfibre 1gb £25pm for 2 years, told virgin to shove it they couldnt match it, just greed at the end of the day, how many £billion did they make last year, taking the pi55

I got the same deal but just a pound cheaper for my parents today. :)I'm paying VM £33 for 250mb and any time calls (if that helps..)
Isnt that the normal price mark £33 , if your happy or your parents that is ,I got the same deal but just a pound cheaper for my parents today. :)
Getting the broadband can be cheaper but its the anytime calls that really rack it up. For example they could have got sky broadband but the only speed they could get is 35mb. They could have got that at £20.00 p/m but if you want to add evening calls it was £8.00 extra and anytime calls was add £16.00. Even though one of them has unlimited calls on his mobile being older they like the landline. Also this was not a new contract it was an existing contract.Isnt that the normal price mark £33 , if your happy or your parents that is ,
Just paying over £21 125 mb and 250mb is £25.
£20.20 for 250mb and stream box 18 month aug existing contractIsnt that the normal price mark £33 , if your happy or your parents that is ,

Same here hopefully in new year, with some proper competition from You fibre , VM will have to give me a better deal to stay.I said I was due to cancel and to move to another provider, all was going through with the cancellation and the other provider and then I was called up to offer me a better deal
