Broadband Retentions leaving Virgin question - Price increase

Was what package do you take with O2 , are you then keeping the SIM or cancelling . Has that loop hole been fixed
It's not really a loophole, if you have an o2sim it's roughly about £8-10. The chances are if you wanted the next broadband package it would cost an extra 8-10 on its own. Just handy if you need a sim too

So if you sign up for the Ultimate Volt, you can cancel the 02 contract and keep the VM part ?
Yes. They're two separate contracts and can be exclusively renegotiated or cancelled at the end of the agreed minimum term or within the 14 day cooling off period.

The '£200 bill credit / free 4K TV' incentive runs every couple of months on the Virgin website (usually Mon-Wed etc) with some smaller offerings in between.

No one contacted us since they offered 250mb for £23, we got an email of 125mb for £20. That's even cheaper than the £22 they offered last week. I assume whoever rang didn't behave any discounts left.

Hold your nerve mate they will most likley call you back although 250mb at £23 was not a bad deal.

Ring back. There's a form inbound retentions will complete requesting you receive a call from their outbound team.

My contract is coming to an end, and I've given the 30 day cancellation notice last Wednesday. Since then, retentions called to offer my current package (250mb) for £2 less at £26 which I refused as it would go above £30 after April. They even tried to offer 350mb for the same price, but I refused again. £30 is the limit.

Since then, I've only received one email with an even higher offer lol.

What should I do from here?

I gave them my notice earlier this month as my 1gig was going from £36 to £69.

They offered me 1gig for £45 to stop me cancelling, I said no thanks, and they put the cancellation through.

2 days later they rang me and offered 1gig for £45 again I said no thanks, they then dropped it to £38, and I again declined and told them I can go elsewhere now as fibre to the property was recently laid, and I could get 1gig for £1 for the 1st 3 months and then £29.99 with no price increases for the remainder of the contract.

They then offered £35, I said if that is fixed price for the 18 months with no price increase then I will go for it, they said no there would be price increases, so I told them i'll think it over and asked them to call me back in a few weeks.

They said they couldn't schedule a call back that far ahead but would call me the following Tuesday but said they couldn't guarantee they could still offer the £35 deal.

The following Tuesday I didn't get any call back, but on the Wednesday morning I did.

Initially offered me 1gig for £38, said nope, I was already offered £35 but as it wasn't fixed for 18 months I declined.

They then said ok £36 fixed for 18 months, said nope I can go elsewhere for £1 a month for the 1st 3 months and then £29.99 fixed for 15 months and that is 1gig up and down.

So they said he would call me back in 10 mins as he was having issues with their system.

10 mins later they called back and offered £26 fixed for 18 months for 1gig.

Needless to say, I accepted (I do have an 02 contract though, so it is using Volt to get the 1gig).

That's a lot of back and forth lol. I'm hoping they call me back too.

They currently have a deal for new customers which is £31 for 264mb broadband with o2 volt. Could I order that, remove the sim for £12 and still have the broadband for a reduced cost?

Iirc they won't apply volt until after the 14 days cancellation period has ended, so you would effectively then be paying £19 for 125mb assuming they let you do that.

Been on chat for 2 hrs
My service gets disconnected on the 26th and I paid £33 on 12/7/23 that covers 10th July until 9aug due a refund of £24. They have just generated an other bill of £50 today to be paid on the 14/8/23.
Cheeky ******said they can't do nothing about it. And I'll get a £74 refund in 45 days.

Cancel the direct debit, they will issue a cheque to refund you if they can't access your bank account.
