hi im new to the forum and im looking for a bit of help with an f3,after trying to update the channel list with a usb stick that I now know was faulty my box is now in a update loop gets to 97% then reboots,i have used loads of different firmwares with a r232 cable with no success,new firmware loads with no problems but still getting the update loop any ideas cheers.

@Bifftannan---Check the psu--if the f/w won't help then this normally points to a corrupted power supply [cheap and available on the bay]

1974---you can use tower or laptop but with an xp top all you need is a cheap null modem cable but more expense with laptop as you need to get a usb adapter and not all work with the cable and upgrade tool as you will see if you read thru this thread.

it just had a replacement psu mate allbeit from china after the original one blew.

Is your box original or clone---F3 or F3s and where did you get the firmware from.Try this.

its an original f3 mate,ive tried firmwares from all known sources,but you might be right about the psu it was only a fiver

nah mate no good,i don't think its worth paying another 15 quid
for a new psu when I can buy a new skybox of fleebay for under 40 quid but thanks for helping anyway cheers

mate it needs a remote aswell so putting that with the postage costs and the chance it might not be fixable I don't think its worth bothering with,like I said I can get a f5s for less than forty quid but thanks for the offer though cheers
