This was due to a box(hardware) limitation correct? Could there be a situation in the future where they release a new box more ££££ for them and it opens UHD?

They are not interested in more powerful stb, cheap and cheerful does the job. The viark 4K is $50 stb at best if it wasnt for server access.
There are other providers other than 28e that are of equal or more interest to them.
Enjoy what you get cheap or sub to 28e, the 3pm games not on 28e anyway

Custom button on the combo works fine for changing sat position now even if it is a little on the slow side.

Recording and EPG need to be fixed.
There is no Manual Timer Option. Only EPG timer option which is difficult to do as it just now and next.
Recordings on the Combo played with VLC player have no Audio they do have Audio on a PC.
Recordings of Icam channels freeze and judder.

Tip of the iceburg the above but the Combo with Mars is in early development and should progress with any luck but there is a long way to go to make it a functioning sat receiver PVR.

I don't know if I have an out of date GUI now, when I hit Menu on the V8UHD, there's a bunch of big tiles like 'Youtube', 'Apps' etc. and then across the bottom I have five menu tiles like 'USB', Network' and 'Settings'. There's no tile for 'update'?

Unless I'm being thick (which is a possibility)

Exactly why i gave vegiuk these instructions, as he quoted the Combo firmware

all done thanks ... its pretty much the same as 8uhd . signal is higher tho on readings

On a reboot settings should be as you set them unless your factory resetting?

I always have to change the CEC setting after reboot. I thought I may be missing a step somewhere in saving this setting.
