Actually just found a video and for the most part looks very similar to the V8 UHD Mars firmware, I saw a white about screen as it seems to jump between themes, looks like it's got Apollo IPTV so not actually sure if these are Mars or IKS now - maybe a sign it's a more generic firmware they're running across the AMLogic boxes now they're coming.


He's got 3 free days in that video - says ApolloPro.IM.145 in the video about 5:14 so suggests it's fullblown IKS.

The Linux kernel was 4.9.113 in the screenshot I saw so that's 6 years old or so I think so may be root access available.

You may want to hold off installing this firmware for the time being.Im reading on other forums many people are reporting issues like boot loop,stuck at initialising and being unstable.Its being recommended that you wait until a new firmware is released.

Only took them 18 months or so to release this one, so shouldn't be long to wait :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Thanks for the heads up - it seems a pretty common thing with some of these Android boxes - my Geant when I first got it got stuck in a bootloop and had to be flashed via the Romupdate method but calmed down and has been a good box, haven't had much time to watch too much lately but when I do it's bang on.

It wouldn't surprise me if this was the same (or need recovery via Romupdate) after it's had the Mars update installed, it used to need recovery at times on the old GTmedia Combo firmware, would be nice to see it not being a paperweight for a bit
 
Yep, good advice goofy115.I haven,t dug my one out yet from the attic.Put it away last year after getting pissed off
with every new firmware release fixing one bug and causing multiple new bugs.Seems like they still have the same
team of "engineers" working for them.Word is the new firmware causes the box to go into a reboot loop when a 4.2.2
channel is selected,autobiss is only so so,no way to select a different sat because there is no sat button on remote
and not very easy to revert back to older firmware.Mine is going to be resting up a while longer.

You can recover and flash back to the standard firmware easily.

Fat32 a usb stick
Transfer the GTCOMBO_v2.0_C20.A9.1.29_20240620 firmware zipped to the usb stick.
On the usb stick unzip the GTCOMBO_v2.0_C20.A9.1.29_20240620 firmware to the root of the stick.
Power off the combo and insert the stick.
Flip the box over and locate the reset button through the slots and press it in then power on, keep the reset button depressed until you see the android recovery menu.
Choose update from EXT
Now long press to start the update
 
Updated sly UK and Euro with sly UK list.
Euro list sly UK is updated but the rest may need a scan as my dish is not 100%
30.0w is empty as I deleted trying to get it back but no luck lol..

I don't whatch sky sports tennis myself.
if sky sports tennis on 28.2e screens the same as sky sports tennis on 19.2e.

Sky sports tennis opens on 19.2e on gtmedia v8 uhd, if this helps
