Broadband Retentions leaving Virgin question - Price increase

Thanks for the replies guys gonna go the cancel DD route and pay manually.

Just contacted the Youfibre rep with details of the MSE deal , he said he can price match to the next speed 500mb for £20.02
Even just a screen shot will do .
Wicked deal mate.

You wont look back, well for 18 months anyway.

Thats a great deal for the price.
Youfibre has just become available in my street too. I have the reps number as i spoke with him the other day. What are you doing about the £5.00 per month router rental? Do anyone know if the router is a modem router or just a router and you can use any other router.

They charge rental for router ?? I know it's usually £5 for a static IP..not heard about router rental...anyway they will likely be same as other providers like Brsk and it's a plug and play with your own router which is what I did.

I might be wrong here but I was reading earlier about there routers. I've just googled it now and it does say a free router. Sorry I don't know where the confusion lies.

It's £5 for a static IP and £7 for WiFi boosters

I am with Vodafone but YouFibre charge for the Mesh boosters if you want them.
£7 per month per booster.
£14 per month per booster for the pro mesh booster on their 2000mb and 7000mb plans.

You can but the router supplied on a 500mb deal wont be a Eero. I never used their router just pluged my Asus directly in to the Ont.
I miss read your post
Its just been pointed out to me that the Eero only has 1gig ports the Arris ports are 2.5gb, maybe its not junk after all

I'll probably use my Asus or get a newer model. How many ports does the arris have?

Yeah on paper the Arris looks good ! Strange they wont use it for 1 gig connections dont you think ? It has 4 ports the Arris.

My Wifi coverage was better on my Asus .

Might work out different for you.

Sorted hopefully all goes smoothly, said we may get charged full price on first bill but to contact him , all screen shots on system for billing to action at £20.02p
Installation Friday
Email received from Virgin and early disconnection fee £26.60. Seems a bit steep with only 19 days of service left in our 30days notice period. The last bill £21.76 covered service until 4th March ,

Can't get my head round fees incurred and what the final bill will be. Oh well bye Virmin

My final VM bill ended up being lower than they actually quoted that it would be.
I only cancelled my direct debit once the final payment was taken.

This is the VM cable box and phone on the front wall , assuming the Ont box will go here too. The cabling outside is via telegraph poles. Bit messy...

From reading you can plug and play your own router , but can you use the supplied router and add my Asus to it to continue using the ethernet ports . Or use my 8 port Poe switch.

A lot of devices are hard wired atm into the Asus

They will install where ever you tell them to.
