Broadband Retentions leaving Virgin question - Price increase

They normally call a few times
Hopefully they tried 4times in the space of an hour on friday . Yeah they do usually over a few days , guess I'll find out tomorrow.

I already spoke to them Wednesday and they left us a offer to think about, but it's crap, 250mb £29. New customers is £27.99 and YF 28.99 for 500mb . Plus 3d party sites are even cheaper , So it's getting knocked back.

Well that was "short and not sweet" , just took call , see you are leaving reason "well looking for a cheaper deal" , she said " see you took a call last week my offer is the same really"
, I said we'd discussed it and declining , before I could say anything else she said I'll update notes and bye. Hung up .

Haha jesus, gone of the days of good deals then ey.

When I was dealing with my last retention, the first deal I got offered was the best. They rang back about 4 or 5 times offering £1 higher than the first I was quoted. I have a feeling they want to save money on outbound that they won't let them top the first offer, to save time and resources.

I think now you will only really see the best deals for new customers and the best time will be around Black Friday.
Some existing customers will drop on but it won’t be the norm.

We were near end of 18 month contract on m350 think it cost £42 wife called them up and she just signed up for another 18 month contract but it was £10 cheaper and it is 1GB

Saw that deal yesterday, 😲

Just had our next bill which is the closing bill on the VM app , gone up to £29.97

Went on chat as last week was told final bill would only be 14.00. the system is a mess.
Been told today it's not the final bill even thought it covers usage from 5/3 to 4/4 2025.
Service ends on the 12./3
Told we can either pay the bill and get a refund , but they dont know the figures yet.
Or cancel the DD don't pay and get a final bill on the 13th.

Yeh I cancelled the DD then waited for the final bill.

They wanted £58 (or £68) something, don't remember exactly, then expected me to wait for a refund.

Told them nope i'll cancel the DD and you can send me the correct bill, which they said was fine, in the end paid £4.57

Never cancelled my DD as i learnt if they can not collect the final payment as they normally would some have had CCJ's from them.

In the end i got 3 final bills but Youfibre sent me the settlement fee for the highest bill to my account so i made money on changing to them.
