Yes @marcoose i totally agree with you about who answers the phone or rings you up etc some of the operators are more sympathetic than others i'm afraid.
If you get one of them that supports man united they will have been in a foul mood after last nites performance 🤣🤣🤣 .
Joking aside as long as your happy with the package and price you got that's all that matters.
In all honesty its not the bargain package of the century but we all cant be lucky all the time eh 🤔🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Finally after a lot of phone calls and 2 contracts that were more expensive than were promised on the phone, got a retention deal for the full 18 months for £28 a month I get 350 mb bb, it was originally 200mb but got bumbed up to 350 through the volt upgrade as I have an o2 sim contract allready. Probably not the best deal you can get but I'm happy with it as I was paying £65 a month before but had tv with sports and a phonline I didn't use, can live without the TV package as I have good iptv for all my sports viewing. I would advise anyone who gets a new deal to double check the contract by logging on to there virgin account, to make sure the price you are promised on the phone lasts more than a couple of months before it goes up loads , and cancel the contract before 14 days, if there's any problems.

Thats a good deal tbh for 350mb BB mate.

But I think the whole VM/o2 deal with volt benefits is a joke really. As the BB increase wasnt really for the price you would have paid for originally. o2 will be similiar soon as well.

Just one of those things have to accept I guess with prices shooting up for everything.

I phoned virgin media yesterday to cancel my package, I was paying £34.50 for telephone weekend free calls and 100mb broadband, would have gone up by £3.25 in March. They offered me 200mb for £29 a month, I accepted it over the phone, didn't wait for a call back.

i got the 3.25 increase letter, just called selected the option to leave and got an automated message saying press 1 if you want 3.25 discount for 6 months, i was like boom job done pricing back to how it should be, normal contract expires around that time anyways so will take me to august. The fact they were willing to roll over so easily means a good proportion of their customers would just take the increase on and do nothing.

Have just had to update my Prefs, so they will contact me. It was set to not to be contacted.
But could take up to 28 days. Will have left by then. 🤣

Ok, so how long before retentions call?
Been just over a week now.
Had 3 calls in first 4 days and now no calls at all from the team for nearly 2 weeks.

Probably will ring back a week before the disconnection and go back down to 200mb despite that bugging me since 350mb was a speed increase when joined o2.

Been waiting on WhatsApp all day?
Not holding out much hope of being contacted.

Well that was a total waste of time chatting with them on WhatsApp. The best the offered me was more than I'm paying now.
Then they tried to start my 30 day notice from today.(which I guess I should have let them but knowing my luck it would have been cut off from the original date & I be charged as well)
Back to waiting.

Don't bother with WhatsApp they are a waste of time.

If you put cancellation notice in didn't you get call back?

If you havent had any calls at all or subsequent calls then ring the virgin media number and go through option till you get to retentions team and see if they will do any decent deal.

No not had any calls.

Was told on another forum to check my preferences, as they might be set to NOT be contacted by virgin media. Which was the case, I have changed them, but it says can take 28 days.

I'm in contract till towards the end of the year paying £24 for 100Mbps

I got a letter to say I was NOT subject to a price increase. Called them on 04/02/2022 and cancelled. Today I got called and took them up on the below! :)

200Mbps for £20 per month on a new 18 month contract.

I was paying £34 for 100mb which I didn't ask for.
It was due to rise in a few weeks.
Just give them a ring and got 50mb for £24 for 18m.
Can't be arsed waiting for callbacks etc and just wanted a reduction in price.
Never use much data so told him my mobile data would probably suffice.
He told me I used 147gb last month.
I must have fell asleep with IPTV on.
Saved a tenner a month, that'll do me

Not getting anywhere with VM be it on live chat or over the phone.

Crafty so and so have closed the outbound team number who gave me the great deal last year.

No one is willing to give a new contract for 200mb or 350mb for same price or for the price of the increase. Basically if I accept the price increase next week then come late this year my loyalty discounts will end and price will shoot up to over £60 a month.

Its a gamble which I have now no choice but to take but my question is would VM give me a good deal if call them weeks before the loyalty discounts end?
