Recover Dead Skybox Flash Using Serial RS232 Null modem Cable

Give it flying lessons.:smiley devil:

Lots of members with or had same problem---you may be able to reflash it with null cable and earlier firmware but, it's not a sure thing--50/50
Read the above posts and you will see that we are trying for a fix of some sorts but don't hold your breath.

hi dead f3 box tried the fix keep getting stb memory error have used this setup on an f5 box so it should work. ive tried all I can see here like disabling firewall running config switching off and on at different times any ideas welcome otherwise its a new box

change your power supply, or fix your power supply.
If you open box, you can see capacitor on psu has blown, risen, easy spotted, you can buy them in Maplin for 60P.

@giggsy---the f3 can be a total nightmare to flash if original and a total b****** if clone.
If the box is genuine then try the 8m erom tool and early firmware---if a clone then files are few and far between and really a new box is the order of the day.
Only very rarely do the caps blow and if thats the case then I would buy a new psu board on the bay but there has to be a reason for the caps to blow in the first place so it's a case of "do I or don't I" commonly known as catch 22.

Hi I have tried almost all the SKYBOXCC website firmware files with there upgrade tool. Before I flashed the error was stuck on load and now it loops to 97. Please can anyone help. I have no idea of what the readme files that are part of the zip file for the upgrade tool are asking me to do. should i be altering somethin before i start the tool? thank you in advance

Which model do you have?

Loading to 97 & then looping is a common fault when you flash a clone box with genuine firmware (or vice versa).

As you have tried firmware from skybox.cc then it looks like you have a clone box.

Try the firmware from here:-
