Help with update or new box from basically no tech person

Keep your HDD connected, it is needed to create a settings backup. It will be used to setup your box automatically when the new image restarts/ HDD/USB also required to download the image.

Please flash 7.3 or 7.4. Choice is yours.

Ahh im so sorry i have to go out, i hope i can catch one of your guys tomorrow to continue, thank you so much for helping really appreciate it

Look at the screen and select what you want to do. If there are any errors, post what they are.

You want to flash an image, so select that.
You will be asked which image you want, select the one you want. 7.3 is the stable edition of ATV.
You will be asked if you want to create a backup, say yes.

You can do it. If you get stuck, people will help you. But, nobody is a mind reader, you will need to say what you are stuck on.

Thats the post im in isnt it?

select flash and restore all if your plugins have been downloaded from feed then they will also be reinstalled again but make sure you do as Abu suggested save settings when asked.
here is a pdf file that may help but for now just look at the images showing how to select image and flash you can try other options once you have flashed image and do image backup

Sorry, should have said this earlier...
Put receiver in deep standby, change hdmi cable or reseat both ends

Did you restore settings after it rebooted?

Which channel? Which satellite? Is volume turned up? Which audio track have you selected?

no i didn't restore settings after the reboot, it didnt ask me to
Should i put receiver in deep sleep now? and what does reseat both ends mean, sorry.

all channels without sound and yes volume turned up, when you ask which satellite, how can i find this, and i did'nt select an audio track

removed plug and power lead, couldn't try new hdmi as don't have new one, as changed last one when the box went wrong because was making the whole screen fuzzy, and pushed the audio button, still no joy

Probably/possibly HDMI socket on box or tv is faulty.
Try the box and HDMI lead on a different TV to check audio.
If no joy, the HDMI outlet on zgemma is probably knackered
