Sorry if I gave the wrong impression, I didn't buy the stick. I have a Chromecast with Google TV and prefer that as it has Android TV 12.



Like @Aristotle said the only difference is the branding. It looks like UBISHENG is licencing the Gigablue brand in Germany. Just like Streamview have done with the Nokia brand and their 8000 and 8010 boxes, and how Spectrum Brands licenced George Foreman's name to put on their grills.

So, other than the lack of a logo and the packaging being in English, I would expect these to be the same as the Gigablue version.


Netflix, Prime Video etc. should be in 4K as this device, both the Aliexpress and Gigablue versions, have Android TV.

The only areas where this may fall short is for apps like BBC iPlayer that only show up in the Play Store for Android TV devices sold in their local countries. So BBC iPlayer shouldn't be available on either - but if some German apps like ZDF, RTL etc. apply the same restrictions, they will likely be missing off the Aliexpress version.


@deano2010 Should be able to give us a review on the Aliexpress stick in a few days time.

Maybe he doesn’t have them lol. The aliexpress supplier is sending out pics to anyone who even looks at that device. Here’s one they sent me.

No talk about anything illegal buddy. If you have a gigablue satellite receiver you can legally stream your free to air channels to apps like smarters, tivimate etc. This paranoia can’t be healthy bud.

Couldn’t help notice a Onn box poking through there Guru 😁 hopefully my GD1 will turn up next week sometime’ I’m currently using a FS 4k max 2nd gen at the moment and for some strange reason i keep getting lip sync issues seems to be worse on itvX player never had a problem with the older generation 4k max not sure why this is happening.

not had a long look at them to be honest. the pic today is probably 40% of what I received a few days ago. 60% of what i received sold within 2 days.

yes. i have maybe 30 onn boxes as many people like them and ofcourse they are a bit expensive here compared to USA.. never actually opened one and tried one.

not with me but I have also Z8 stick and g7 sticks which are also certified devices if memory serves me correctly.

at device set up stage you can pick a selection of apps that will auto install.. i also tested some 4k vod today and it played flawlessly.

Thought as much’ the Nokia 8000 box didn’t support these apps either that’s why i didn’t purchase it in the end 😫
