Guide A guide to the best boxes for IPTV 2021

I've the opportunity to purchase a used NVIDIA Shield (2017 version, it appears). It's now several years old but would it be worth even today in 2024? Or are new Shields or other boxes just better, these days, regardless of a "good deal?"

depends on how much you get it for. i have an older model and been using it a few years and its been great. i actually bought the pro second hand, and it bricked during an update, and nvidea sent me a replacement, based on my ebay screenshot, and a box to send the bricked one back free. the newer pro has AI upscaling so possibly better in that respect, but not sure how much more i'd pay for that. but a firestick 4k is a great alternative if you aren't using the gaming stuff. i use one of those daily too in another room

If it's a decent price get it.
The only difference is the upscale facility!
I don't think I ever used mine apart from test
Nvidia are still updating all models and with what is happening with fire TV it's got to be a good buy

It's not being offered at a great price and I don't think I'd use my main TV to stream video games through a streaming box (I would just buy an XBOX or somesuch). Thanks for feedback and comments. I'll pass on it, I think.

not factoring in price is the nvidia shield TV pro the best device currently avalible? Does anyone have any other recommendations?

Having tried a shield many moons ago.. I would definitely still go to Android. But for endurance and ease of use Formuler.

I love the formuler just for mytvonline. I'd go for the shield if you want to play your own 4k files. My z7+ played evening you through at it via default player. The 10 pro max just awful in comparison playing my own media go via the LG TV now. For standalone IPTV formulers rock

Never had a problem with z11 & running mytvonline3. Best app on the market.. But only as good as your provider..

Sorry mines actually the 10 pro max not the 11! Just edited. I'm guessing they've fixed things. I don't have any issues on the IPTV side hence why I said formulers rock for IPTV, only issue is VOD Dolby Vision playback, formulers don't play this. However my 10 is trash playing back my own 4k media, using Kodi on it rescues it a little but the old z7+ is fine in comparison, no unsupported media nonsense, and no jumping out of sync when using VLC player should you happen to pause then play again. Most won't notice if they don't bother with playing blu ray remux and stick to mytvonline.

Thats fair enough I haven't personally tried the Formuler Z11 myself. It has better performance than the shield pro? Or you prefer it because its easier to, mytvonline3 etc.

If you haven't used mytvonline3 how is a shield better?
