Hi all, I'm looking at getting the shield pro as I've finally been given permission to give Sky the boot 👢
Looks a decent bit of kit and might use it for some of the geo streaming in future.
Are there any preferred IPTV viewers with nvidia or would it all depend on the provider ....
Was looking at Tivimate? UI looks pretty user friendly
Newbie so go easy 😁

I personally don’t use a shield but they are great devices.
IPTV will run on any half decent device running ATV or AOS. I do use Tivimate and it is a great app but I have also used iMPlayer which is great also.
I think the having a good sub supplier is key.

The shields are OK devices I've owned 2 maybe 3 they handle every app and are android certified for 4k Netflix ect I've never used tvimate myself but know people that have the only downside is not all iptv providers allow the use of tvimate as it takes a dns which most providers won't hand out

This is good to know @bazcfc1 thanks for the heads up ..
Any other viewers you'd recommend? I see a lot of love for implayer in here, not that I've got my heart particularly set on any.
I see it mentioned a lot that providers have their own apps? Does that mean a preferred app or something self developed?

Nothing wrong with Implayer well except for the dev been up his own arse and full of self-importance. Its a good app, i do lean towards Tivimate though not much out there beats it.

He got a ticket system on his discord now , so doesn't get so involved in the chit chat now. Tbf when i logged a ticket, he helped me with the answer fairly quickly with no issue.

Also, the AI upscaling feature on the Shield Pro is pretty impressive. Helpful for the content in lower quality, or if you choose to stream lower resolution content for consistency.

I have a limit of 38mb max in my area (no fibre). I get nominal speeds of around 31mb down, 10-15ms ping (hardwired).
I do struggle with trying to stream the 4k content without buffering.
Drop down to FHD or HD and the Ai upscaling puts in some work to help compensate whilst things run without disruption.
