If I go to update all I get is the blue crash screen with white writing and loads of lines of txt, same thing that happens if I leave iptv player running and don't close it.. I'll try capture a ss

I would do a fresh flash of WooshBuild to be honest if you are getting this many problems. Make sure you have a copy if your line details though before flashing.
 
if I'm honest I've flashed about 20 times since iv had this box (about a month) and i have always had that blue screen of death for updates, only once have i had the cross egg update come up (the 1 that won't install thats locked)

i realised what the first few crashes were, which is leaving itv player on, or if i do not use the cccam usb uploader straight after flashing then i get the same blue screen,

please don't think I'm trying to pull your build apart either, it is hands down one of the best constructed i have come along in a very long time which is why i want to take the time to re flash and try and fault find then fix then try again... the long and the short of this is, if i do nothing but watch tv then it will not crash
 
Halleyuyah I found the issue.. Ok so since I last posted I've loaded your build a few more times and set it up as I normally do , initialise , cross epg, auto boutique ect so it's exactly how I like it, I then decided to log into FileZilla and it worked a treat, then so did picons (downloading plugins) then the last thing I always do ... Set up remote viewing, as soon as I logged in from my phone to view channels to make sure it worked, I lost the lot again, I then set up the scenario again and done remote login again but done it first and the results are conclusive, I really don't know what it does to it (I imagine something to do with the usb but it massively screws with the box... Sorry for the essay wooshman, just figured u would want to know.. Regardless I'm going to stick with ur image and I will try a brand new usb 3.0 at the weekend and see if results differ... Thanks for advice tonight
 
Hi all. Being a complete newbie with this I may be about to ask a numpty question and am standing by to be ridiculed. My ZGemma has OpenVix on it, will flashing this image work or (as the title kinda suggests) do I have to have OpenTV on to start with. (runs off to hide in a dark corner)......

It will work as is fella, just read up on where to put certain files etc c lines, n lines,

You may want to try the wooshbuilds though, if you decide you want to change things, read the guide at the beginning and it will give you an insight

couple of questions

1. Is it ok to update the epg as i thought it had been stopped from updating?
2. After clicking update on software manager it says my image is out of date and a new flash will increase the stability.. will this affect wooshbuild?

Is it safe to update both or should I leave it alone?

Afternoon all. Last night I flashed and set up WooshBuild - absolutely spot on! The instructions at the beginning of this thread could not have been better or easier to follow, I am a novice with this stuff but I had no problems whatsoever. Hats off to all of those involved with this project, really well done! (I hope I don't sound condescending? just wanting to convey praise).
However, a question if I may..... I currently have a 32Gb stick in the rear USB but have ordered a 512Gb stick. When it arrives do I go through steps 2 and 3 of the guide or is there something else I have to do?

Just start a fresh again buddy, you need to initialise that new drive after you have installed the base build, it's always the best option, you could run into alsorts of issues otherwise, plus you have done it once so next time will be a doddle :-)

I flashed my zgemma 2s there last week but I'm wanting to use the wooshbuild instead... I used the kiddac guide to start off with and flashed the box then.
If I want to put the wooshbuild on how do I re-flash the box? I have formatted a usb stick fat32 and transferred the zgemma folder, but when I turn the box back on it goes straight to boot and doesn't show FLSH on the front screen.
Is it necessary to use 2 usb pens? I have only got one in the house and its 16gb so was just going to use the one if that is possible?
I'm also stuck on trying to flash online there is nothing to select on the flash on the fly page?
pretty confused not sure where I am going wrong...:beg:
 
Goto first post buddy, you need the base build then you flash using he online function.
You use one drive with the build on, then the other driver is what you set up for use with recording, timeshift etc,
Your build will be on a fat 32 drive but your second drive will be initialised as ext3. So then will work for timeshift function.

hmmm.... I have been using the one usb stick then deleting everything on it to set it up then for recording etc. could this be my problem? possible trip to tescos in the morning this is bugging me that I cant do it haha
 
The instructions is to use two drives buddy, you dont set the drive up afterwards because it won't work, it will record but time shift won't work

Plonky, this has already been answered a couple of times through this thread. I know there a billion posts but you can use the search this thread button (top right)

They wont update as they are locked to avoid future problems. CrossEPG is locked as newer versions don't like the zgemma boxes. Software manager is locked or you will lose the ability to flash WooshBuild online.
