Yes Ibo player is good there’s 2 types off ibo apps available in the store I have subscribed to both and they are fast at loading and it looks like a custom iptv app.

It's also good for firesticks etc if ypur supplier has it. As some apps take loads of resources ibo dosent.

LG TVs apps do run in the background I’m not sure about Samsung I haven’t got a smart Samsung TV to check.

Well it was in ibo player but my trial ran out (ibo) , but it didn't show up on smarters, I'll check with provider

Probably the smarters app doesn’t show catch ups then, there is another version of the smarters app available on LG/Samsung store and another ibo player pro app you might want to try before contacting your provider.

Have you tried disconnected from network and unplugging TV for a few minutes?
Happened to me with YouTube app on LG TV.
