Sky, Astro,TNT, CANAL+, Ria 4k and probably more.
Most new TVs support it because it’s royalty free and has been around for nearly ten years.
So in theory I could watch most of that stuff directly on the TV within the apps!
It's not actually true 4k, although it looks sharp and bright?

The Rockchip cpu does beat the benchmark scores of the Tegra x1 but who is the device aimed at if it doesn’t support Dolby vision or Atmos and also what ever other codecs it may not support.
For some reason they don’t list any of the supported codecs.

I mean it will run iptv easily and will be decent for gaming emulation.
Me personally I think it’s expensive just for running iptv and gaming emulators as that is all it seems to be able to do.

I looked at a few American YouTube channels talking about the device and the comments made me laugh as some were saying they were ordering the 16gb version but that will be down to the fact that 16 is bigger that 8 lol.
BBC are showing wimbledonnow tv show euros English comm in UHD

They are all true 4k UHD HLG HDR channels that those platforms provide.
I'm not sure that is true! Because true 4k looks different on my TV ! Not quite as colourful and is more detailed.
iPlayer are calling it HLG HDR and not using the 4k bit.
Sky and other services are falling back to this format because of price.
No service is actually using 4k for the Euros coverage, this is imo and what I have read on other forums.
But I won't argue the point as I got bit third hand.

Not sure about your tv but the shield doesn’t support HLG HDR.
The Euros are being broadcast in 1080 but Sky are still using 4k on their other UHD channels as are other platforms.

Not using the Shield for footie.
The iPlayer on Shield doesn't give the option of Hlg HDR, the LG C3 TV does, unsure if other devices offer it ATV fire etc.
I did read that sky were considering using that same format because of price !
