Apple TV

But it still can’t do full audio pass through and has limited apps available.
You don’t need a powerful device for streaming it’s overkill.
I would rather have open source OS, full codec support, customisation and pass through.
That’s not important to you because you probably just use official apps.
So that device fits your needs and wouldn’t fit many other people’s needs.
That’s why Android devices are more popular.
The only small negative, for me at least is the fact I can’t install TiviMate on it, but IPTVX is on par with TiviMate anyways, certainly smokes XC, IBO and Smarters.

But there’s that many positives for the ATV that I don’t loose any sleep over not being able to install apk’s.

I can switch between 20 different apps with 0 LAG or reloading, in the space of 20 seconds. RAPID!

Much better HDR experience on the ATV compared to the likes of the Shield.

Frame rate matching actually works, on every app.

There’s 0 ads anywhere on the device.

Best designed remote of all devices, and voice commands work so good.

I can mirror my phone or laptop with basically 0 latency.

Plex is rapid, and works flawlessly compared to every other device I’ve tested.

Last but not least the Dolby Vision standby wallpapers are a thing of beauty 🤣

Cons for me make it no go.
I have no issues switching between apps but I don’t need 20 of them.

Not sure what HDR issues the shield has other than HLG.
Most of the latest content is in DV except for UHD tv channels
I have zero issues with any image codecs or audio codecs.

My device has AFR built in so if an app hasn’t got it then I can use that.

As for the remote it lacks the buttons I need for key mapping when using Kodi and accessing quick settings on my AVR.
Also the extra buttons for iptv.
Voice control works great on mine too and no typing in apps just dictation through the remote.

I have no issues with screen mirroring on my android device or TV they both work great.

Don’t use plex, prefer Kodi and VOD apps with Debrid.

I can fully customise my Home Screen to whatever I want it to look like and use live wallpaper in HDR or DV.

Like I said everyone has different needs from a device.
You see to have gone through a few.

I wouldn't take any notice to geeky keyboard gits!
They are always going to look for some minor flaw (codec or other shite)
Like me you have the ultimate setup!
Pro shield and latest Apple 4k ethernet box on main TV and Latest WiFi Apple 4k box in bedroom.
I don't know what Apps I couldn't put on Apple as I have all the apps I would use, plus I have a USA Apple id as well to grab apps not in UK store!
I used smart DNS which runs flawlessly!
I used Tivimax but have Tivimate on shield.
The sound and picture is stunning through my soundbar system with Dolby Atmos and Dolby vision .
This is the best visual and audio experience I have had coupled with my LG c3 77 inch tv

Is that all you can do is resort to childish insults then make yourself look a hypocrite by bagging on by having the ultimate setup lol
Not once did I insult you I just stated why I wouldn’t own an ATV device and it seems to have hurt your feelings.
You need to grow up and by the way you should have of bought the LG G3.

Can't reply as I make a habit of ignoring Geeky giti

I think you are confused what ignore means because you have just replied with another childish insult lol
Also you didn’t insult the user who said the ATV was a pile of crap either.

I swapped from a Google TV stick to an ATV earlier this year as I was just fed up of the janky Google UI and it's been a night and day difference. I think I switched at a good time though as I've had absolutely no problems on the app front thanks to a few recent releases this year.

I used to use TiviMate which I did really like but after trying almost all of the apple IPTV apps I'd say I'm now pretty happy with UHF. It's not perfect, I wish it allowed the user to provide OpenVPN details (so I don't need to manually use the Nord app) and supported recording to my NAS drive but it's got a nice UI, regular updates and it's cheap enough monthly or as a lifetime sub.

I've just setup Vidi and RD for VOD and that is working flawlesly too. It might finally be time to give up on my *arr setup if this proves to be as rock solid as that's been over the years, time will tell.

Obviously something like a Shield would be better than the Google TV I had anyway but personally I'd have no concerns recommending ATV to anyone going forward. It is mildly annoying using without an iPhone at times though!

Merry Christmas Everyone’ My son got me an Apple TV 4K 3rd gen for Xmas just wondering which is the best app to use Snappier IPTV or UHF many thanks.

I haven’t tried Tivimax iboproplayer is best one so far I reckon
If Tivimax is like the android version it should be really good and a few users on here have said it’s good.
I wouldn’t go on reviews and actually try it for yourself.
Have you tried the Tivimate?
