Guide A guide to the best boxes for IPTV 2021

I have bought & sold almost every decent piece of hardware there is for the usual streaming software and nothing but the shield pro 2019 has kept my attention. I got rid of all clutter and just kept tivimate premium, stremio, plex & hyperspin. thats all it ever needs.

I did pass my forumler z11 mini on to the mother though and she enjoys that as she can work it easy enough.

hoping Nvidia do a long overdue shield 3 once the switch 2 is announced.

What ever works for you we all like different things. I personally hated the shield and others have said the same.

of course, its a personal preference, is it perfect? absolutely not and it no longer recieves official updates but if everyone liked the same thing the world would be a very boring place.

Firestick 4K Max - Ethernet issue

Anyone know how to force the Ethernet connection?

Mine works randomly, but typically only ever connects via WIFI.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

What would be the most logical upgrade from a 4k Firestick Max?

Id ideally still like access to the likes of BBC iPlayer, ITV, Channel 4 apps etc, but wanting to consider upgrading to a more powerful box/stick.

This is where it gets tricky on a budget really, cheaper device options wont have ATV so those players wont be running 1080p and higher on them..

Shield Pro would be a upgrade with those players.

Amazon cube would fit your criteria and the Shield.
But don’t go for the shield if use any apps that broadcast using HDR(HLG) because it’s not supported.
They would just play in SDR format but it may not matter to you anyway.
It also doesn’t support av1 encoding.

What about Enigma2 devices. Good or not like android devices? A lot of well develop plugin are available to use for iptv.

Thanks for this. So the cube is more powerful that the 4k max? Shield Pro supports all those apps I mention and again much more powerful 4k max?

Yes the bench mark scores are higher on both devices with the shield being higher than the cube.
If you don’t need android os for
Kodi and other third party VOD app or need full audio pass through then the Apple TV 4K is the most powerful devices compared to any Android device.
It doesn’t have as much choice for iptv apps compared to android and suppliers won’t have their own apps for it either,
if they require you to use their apps only.

Apple TV is great for everything, has the best wifi by far and the best interface. Plus IPTVX which is even nicer than tivimate. Plus if you have a mac or iphone you can use it as a screen even without cables. Or you could even use a new Mac mini if you wanted to use your TV as a computer and it runs IPTVX or smarters etc.
