Guide A guide to the best boxes for IPTV 2021

My2019 shield pro works well, can't recall any audio issues with it. It might be worth trying a different HDMI cable or fiddling around with the audio settings.

The KM2 Deluxe will be the same as the homatics.

If you want certified, perhaps go for the google tv streamer or the Firestick 4k max? The google tv streamer is 25% off now with a blc code.
I have seen users on Reddit mention that they have cleaned their Shield internals out and also reapplied thermal paste and it has made the device run a lot better.

I've just decided to give the HOMATICS Box R 4K Plus a punt. Got it at £61.90 including tax as there were some codes to give £8 off. I noticed they have a usb C slot to to take an optional dvb s2/t tuner.

You can get a numbered remote too, if you ever want to.

I bought one a year ago and use it with my chromecast. Some of the buttons don't work with the chromecat but you should get full functionality with your box.

Its not a bad price but the chipset is ancient.
Yeh i looked it up at it says 2019. The later S905x5 i did not see a box with that chip, one was mentioned something like onn tv box but i did not really see one to buy. I have been looking at the mekool km2 delux and when it got mentioned earlier that is the same chipset I thought it was worth a punt. It litterally 50% cheaper. To be fair i'm only using it for iptv.

This might sound stupid, but is there a noticeable difference from firesticks to these boxes?
Biggest difference is the software Android TV versus Amazons ad covered OS based on Android.
I have a Fire Stick Max and it's really quick but the homescreen is laden with ads for Amazon services.
Amazon keep blocking use of new launchers so you are stuck with it up to a point.
If you can live with it tho they are bargain just now think the Fire TV max is only £40.

My HOMATICS Box R 4K Plus has turned up today. The quality feels good but i will plug it in tonight and see how it performs.
I'd be curious in your experience if you don't mind sharing later. I have a Shield Pro mostly for iptv but interested how this is. Been on fence between giving the Homatics a go or getting a formuler for the spare tv to watch sports

Just set the box up, moved it down stairs to see if it gets the same audio drop as the shield. It's pretty zippy for a cheaper box. I've set up Tivimate and stremio with no issues. Now just for more testing. The picture shows the size a nvidia 2017 and dreambox play ultra hd.

What do you mean by blocking new launchers?

Firesticks seem fine till you use something better then going back feels slow and sluggish. The only fire device I'd have would be the cube.
See iv'e heard a lot of people say they are not that great, but then i hear loads saying there good, not sure what to believe

The launcher still works but they block the use of the home button it will still take you to the stock amazon home.
You can get round it by putting the launcher app on the app page but it's a faff having to scroll down and along to the launcher app.
Every now and then somebody finds a way to circumvent the home button problem but amazon will block it at some point.

Is the size/shape of the device really a thing?
Could anyone give a crap if its a centimetre thicker or longer than another device?

- Not getting xyz box, it's 14mm too big, - I was going to use that space to store three matches and an oxo, gonna look for something smaller.

If we were talking about a chaps lunchbox then size matters but for a TV box who cares as long as it works 😁
