Yeah tivimate is showing the BBC one feed as being fhd 50fps but the LG overlay is showing 2160p.

Ah yeah the lg overlay should show 2160p for SD channels as well if I'm not mistaken. I misunderstood you, my bad!

I had both off. When I turn both on the screen takes an age to change channel.

Only by having them on will your tv report the correct resolution and match the frame rate.
With resolution off your TV will report a resolution of 2160p all the time.
Mine does if I turn it off.
My screen goes black for a second or two when changing a channel with a different resolution and frame rate.

With switch screen resolution turned on in Tivimate it reports all the correct resolutions for HD, FHD and UHD for me.
The switch screen refresh rate reports 50hz for 25fps channels and 60hz for 30fps channels.
All I can think it must be doubling the frequency for the refresh rate of just reporting the HZ

Sky Sports Main Event UHD and F1 are the two most common 4K channels and they use HDR HLG so you should see a HLG logo in the top right corner an LG Oled. Looking at the Sky forums it looks like there are some issues with Samsung Oleds in case you have a Samsung.

My iptv provider hasn’t got UHD channels he’s got (HEVC) not sure what that means, and my LG TV doesn’t show the HDR or HLG in the top right corner.

You could press the info button on your remote.
I get this pop up in the top left corner of the screen.
This is what my LG tv reports a 4k HDR HLG iptv channel is.
I have resolution and frame rate switching turned on.
You will need a least resolution switching turned on in device or app settings for your tv to report the correct resolution.

I haven’t got the info button on my LG remote, I got 3 little dots on my remote it says on there AD/SAP when I press that button More Action comes up on my top right corner off the screen and it has 5 options.
