WooshBuild v3.00 + USB Cam Transfer Plugin + BaseBuild - OpenATV 5.1

I don't use my box a huge amount due to being away from home a lot. I have noticed the last few times that the EPG hasn't updated and I have to do a manual download and it seems fine then.

Would this have anything to do with being on standby for a long periods of time. Everything is set up as per the build and used to update automatically as it should.

I have noticed there is a build update available, would this resolve the issue?

If it is normal standby mode I am surprised it hasn't updated as it should do but if it is deep standby I don't think it will wake up and do the updates. If you are running WooshBuild v3.xx you won't see much difference by upgrading to v3.03, but if you are running v1 or v2, it is time to upgrade.
 
Got box this morning and up and running within 30 mins, thanks for the guide & image, big step up in quality and features from the V8S i'd been using previously..

Pretty much. Use the instructions but when you get to the step where you flash online you select the H2H version of WooshBuild. Then right at the bottom of the instructions are some additional instructions for the H2H as a PDF file. These were done for me by Kieron who is a H2H user as I can't get VM where I am.

Thank you Mr Bossman himself. Lol.

I've done some further digging and it looks like I may have a hard drive issue as it only shows "expansion" as where the EPG data is saving to and I've had to manually change where to save recordings etc.

I think after the football I'll format the HDD again and re-initialise and mount and see how that goes.

Does v3.03 have the Racing UK swap as well as I manually changed that myself?

Another quick question for you Wooshman, do you do a similar build for a VU+ Solo2 as I'm considering one of those and moving this to another room.

WooshBuild v3.03 is pre configured as much as I can from this end, the recording location, plugins and UK racing HD is all done including BBC1 & 2 swap for England. If you initialise you will have to disable timeshift and the swap file before it will let you initialise.

If you are going to intialise, go for the latest version too while you are there. Depending on your version now (I think v3.01) you should be able to flash online / local which start at step 4 of the destructions in post #1

No there is no WooshBuild for any other boxes at present, but as I said in the 2S thread, if there are any suppliers who would like to loan me a box or two I will be happy to expand the field.

Ok so just to clarify,

Update to 3.03 get everything set up as per usual.

Format HDD on the computer.

Disable Swapfile & Auto Timeshift.

Then reset up the HDD

Most important.... make sure you have a copy of your line. As you are going to wipe your drive, a settings backup will be destroyed too unless you backup settings and move them from box to USB or PC.

Update to 3.03
Import line

Disable swap and timeshift
initialise
Then create swap file again
Turn on timeshift.

Or go from the very beginning and flash BaseBuild first following every step along the way. This will wipe your drive, create your swap etc etc and flash the lastest WooshBuild.

But again, make sure you have a copy of your line details before you do anything.

I have a copy of those so that is all good.

So I looks like I don't need to format the HDD on the PC at all then?

Settings isn't the end of the world as those can be easily changed back quickly enough.

Would it matter if I had auto time shift turned off as this isn't a main used device for me?

Looks like I will have to start from the beginning again as when I try and do an online update E2 crashes and restarts.
 
Quick question how do i get the irish channel numbers right, i have set my tv region to Ireland but the channels are in the wrong order.
I should have
101 RTE One
102 RTE Two
103 Tv 3
etc.
can you help??
 
hi guys, I've got an s2 and have just bought the h2s to upgrade to, i backed up my settings on the s2 usb hdd, so correct if I'm wrong.

i plug all connections into my new h2s box, install the build, put my original hdd without initialising or creating a new swap file, flash online, restore my settings from the s2 backup, then add my line again?

Look through this thread and you will see how to edit the custom_swap.txt file. For Roi you need to remove the top swaps for England.

115 =
141 =

etc

You can remove them or add # to the beginning

You can try but may find your box hags or boot loops. In theory there is no reason why it won't work, but theory and practice are very different.

Let us know how you get on.

BaseBuild is onlt the start of WooshBuild, there is no need to put your line into BaseBuild as it wont do anything. You need to install the full WooshBuild, If that is what you meant I am sorry.
 
what the general rule here on switching your box off at bedtime ? and whats the pro/cons of keeping your box on 24/7
my wife is a safety ist fruitcake{lol} and there is no way the zgemma will be getting kept on or even on standby overnite with 2 young kids in the house..
 
The best thing to do is to place the box in standby when not in use. This is less stressful on the box although I have just thought of that one, but mainly it means you don't have to do a manual scan of channels and EPG each time you turn on. The other option to this is to change the time the scans take place. You could time it so it happens when you know the box will be on but I will warn you that the EPG scan will make your TV channel turn to radio while it is happening.

AutoBouquet E2 settings and CrossEPG settings. These have been covered previously in the thread.
 
Is there any way of stopping the tv turning on when the updates are done, my son set his to update at 4am but his tv comes on and wakes the bloody house lol
