Did any one get around to trying this on the H.S version to see if it works ok?

I am quoting myself but does any one have an answer I did look before hand but no one said yes or no.
The file structure of this image is not right for your box. You need a build which uses the sh1 folder such as the 2S box.

The version for the 2S should work with your box. Make sure you do a complete backup first though and also have a copy of your line safe. There are tons of threads on how to backup your line, or look at Kiddac's guide (link in my signature)

Thanks for your help

Strange that they have different structure when they are all the same hardware just different tuners and the cpu for previous models is different so didn't expect it to work.

After doing a bit more reading, I am now torn with the file structure as it could be the h3 like the H2S box.

Create a complete backup ad have a look at the folder structure. You will then know if you need the 2S or H2S WooshBuild version.

Post back and let us know though please for other users.

just checked from zgemma downloads the file structure is h3

Yeah I did the same which was my "more reading" lol. The H2S should work without a problem, but I thought at lease if he creates a backup of his current stuff I will know for sure before giving myself a head when it doesn't flash properly.

Cheers D :-)

Apologies if this is a n00b question, if I flash basebuild and continue. Say I'm selling the box or just wanting to remove altogether, is this permanent or would say a simple flash of another image clear it all completely inclu. Basebuild?

It is not a noob question it is a good one :)

When you flash a box with any image it will completely remove what was on the box and replace it. An image is a 1:1 mirror image of an existing box. So BaseBuild is there so you can flash online, that gets replaced with WooshBuild v3.xx and then if you were to download the latest nightly build from zgemma.tv (the official place to get it) that would flash and replace WooshBuild.

If you are selling the box and want it back to factory settings, download the latest nightly build and flash from a USB stick (like BaseBuild) This way when it is turned on you get the Wizard on screen for the next user.

Hey Wooshman,

Great 3.0.2 build. Had it up and running in what, 10 mins?? I note this:

  • AutoBouquet E2 update time changed to 11:45am
  • CorssEPG update time changed to 12:45pm

What was the thinking behind that? Can I change this? Missus has already been complaining that it 'goes off' at 11.45am! I think I found the CrossEPG update time, but it doesn't seem to allow me to set AM and the Autobouquet E2 seems to show 4am, but I could be looking in the wrong place.

EDIT :
So If I press green, highlight autobouquets E2, OK, Menu - I can change that one (was already set to 4am)
Menu, Setup, CrossEPG, configure and change the download at 04.30

Is that the right way to do it??
(funnily enough I looked through the last 3 pages and the first 10 and couldn't find the answer, but it is in the thread!

Welp, after a sleepless night I decided the best medicine was to setup my new ZGemma Star H.2S with your image ROFL

In the past I'm just been so put off due to needing to manually search for plugins - especially for MGCamD and well, this solves all that!

Appreciate all the effort and is certainly one I'll be considering in future when friends ask. One question, are you going to be developing this for the Cloud iBox 2 Plus SE? I have that box sat downstairs which I'd love to use this image on!

Another question but possibly unrelated, I followed your post on Picons. Now these aren't showing via the EPG. Not a big deal, just curious...

I have changed the times so often in each build to try and please everyone that I no longer know what times the current image have in them. So my solution is I cannot please everyone.

The thinking behind those times is to stop people's TVs turning on in the middle of the night as whne your TV is HDMI CEC enabled, one of the updates will wake your TV and then turn it off again oce the update is done.

Yes, that is the way to change the times to suit your needs.

The past is now exactly that, the past! As you have seen, this build is out to make setting up trouble free and does as much as it possibly can for you.

As for the Cloud iBox 2 Plus SE, apart from being a mouthful it cannot release an image for it as I don't have the box to build it on. At this moment in time I am only able to release builds for the Zgemma boxes.

Maybe I should setup a Box fund in place of a beer fund, where people send me a spare box to build on.

All done today in 25 mins - including a head scratch after the TV went blank (but green) screen on reboot after the loader image was flashed. Took me a while to remember that one of the HDMI inputs on that TV was only 720p capable... Moved to 1080p capable input and all good.

Hi wooshman, great build you have done here many thanks :) i have my line running fine but if I put the box in deep standby it resets it and I have to install again. not sure if this is normal or not or just my box ?

Instead of installing it again, go into softcam panel and see if restarting the cam solves this. It will either start or it wont.

Red button -> Softcam panel -> Green button (restart)

If it restarts then the line is there but hasn't restarted. This could be down to the server seeing your line as dormant and puts it to sleep.

If it doesn't start, install the line again and then go into softcam panel and press the green button to restart it.

Deep standby is the same as turning your box off (nearly) and will stop channel updates and EPG updates running. You would be better off leaving it in normal standby.

Test the above first and use deep standby, but if it still needs restarting / reinstalling, try in normal standby.

All installed, up and running in about 30 mins. Only issue I had was me being unable to find my stash of spare USB sticks so had to make do with an 8gb stick for installation and not having another stick to copy over my line so had to do it via FTP.
I must say I'm pretty impressed with your build, everythings running smooth at the moment apart from a few freezes which I'm putting down to the line at the moment but all in all I'm chuffed.
I plan to swap out the 8gb stick I used for EPG,swap and record for a 64gb one tomorrow, can I just swap them over and go through the initialisation process again?

Hi Wooshman,

thanks for an awesome build and great instructions - easy even for someone like me who had just received their H.2S

it may just be me and i missed it but having done the install twice yesterday - on each occasion on completing step 7 i forgot to remove the usb from the front and when it was rebooting and i saw it still in the H.2S i was thinking damn i forgot to remove. it... just wondering if something to the effect of "remove the USB from the front slot" might be worth you adding into the end of section 7 ?

also on the first install yesterday i am sure i found the picon set described. when installing for the 2nd time i could not find it. i installed a set with solid background but same size as an interim - can one install a different size eg srp-full.400x240-400x240.light.on.transparent ?

thanks again

Update HDMI CEC Issue

Hi Wooshman,

Thanks for all you hard work, I use your image and for me its head and shoulders above the rest.

With regards to your above comment; I too, as many others, have previously experienced the issue of the update turning the TV on in the middle of the night and as a result have now disabled the TV Wake signal permanently.

You have more than likely already considered this but my question to you is would it be possible to either fix the root cause of the issue i.e. prevent the HDMI CEC instruction being issued during the update or failing that could we implement a workaround wherein HDMI CEC functionality is deactivated before the update is initiated and then reactivated once its complete?

I messed around trying to schedule these changes using cron jobs but unfortunately without much luck.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Alex

Hi I am new and in trouble. What ever i do i can not re-flash any builds onto my Zgemma h.2s box after downloading openvix v4. Is there any one that can help. I have re-formatted the scan disc that i used for the first time.

PLease help

Cheers

you will probably need to prep the USB stick all over again (box corrupts the USB if left in after install)

Full format USB with hddguru (its free) then full 32bit format with Windows, then load image & flash box
