Virgin full fibre

@hkphooey The only thing I can complain about vm is that they blocked certain sites and are known for blocking some iptv services.
So you may need to use a vpn for certain content.
I haven’t had any issues with Vodafone fibre that I had with VM.
The new sky router is the one that is causing issues for some people.

Never had a issue with virgin to be fair. With or without vpn

Vodafone for £36 for a gig is awesome price. And the cheapest I could find that I can have here.

Had problems with Vodafone years ago. But with full fibre it's good.

VM have installed all cables and dug up streets everywhere here. It's been ages now and still nobody can get it.

It's expensive Anyway probably won't go that way. I'll try and haggle Vodafone for the same price

That's probably a offer to you.

When I've looked on there website I can't get anything over 150mbs for £40.

That offer is probably for long standing customers.

The Vodafone offer is for all

Vodafone is powered by BT open reach which is interesting.
Their full fibre deal is lot cheaper than my BT contract.
Do you have to have a box like virgin between your own router.?
Woth BT I'm connected straight from the incoming fibre connection

Mine is supplied by CityFibre network.
There is a small powered box between the router.
The current deal is

Right I see thanks. that won't be for me I'm on 700mb guarantee also the powered box thing is a no go for me .
I get over 700mb over WiFi and virtually max on Ethernet.
The box is very small and not an any real issue for me.
Why would the box cause issues?

Yes mate but that's not your guaranteed speed is it..
I get 900mb all the time virtually.
I have a large Asus RX router at the incoming terminal I have all wires built in a utility room set up no wiring showing ..cat 7 cabling is all I have from small box entry non powered under counter neat and minimalistic.
I don't want to add anything extra as it's neat tidy

I had the box located behind my tv near to the power source and the cable they ran is thinner than an Ethernet cable.
I can’t complain with the speeds and it’s symmetrical at a decent price.
I think CityFibre are the network to beat at the moment for price.

Yes very good price that .....I'm happy with BT or EE whatever you want to call them .
Best price I can get if I go through my app to extend my contract for 900mb is £47.99 if I use EE website I can get it for £42.99 thing is if I use all my same details and use link that says if you are already a BT customer click here to go to ee for latest best price its £65 a month...
I tried using their website just as a new customer thought I will just do it that way but as soon as I click the section who is your current provider I go round in circles with the more expensive price.

Also depends if CityFibre is available in your area.
Also not sure about the rules with BT or EE sighing up as a new customer with a recent connection to household.
I didn’t have an issue when I did it with VM in the past getting my Mrs to sign up as a new customer after ending my contract.

If you are with BT, then you will have a box already on your wall somewhere, with OpenReach on it.

It will be another box similar to that (they call them an ONT), that City Fibre would install, then you plug your router into that, instead of the OpenReach one.

This is mine and it has its own psu unit, similar to the VM one that has its own also.
First cable is psu, second wan/lan cable to router and third is fibre cable.
