Viark VIARK TYPE BOXES

Playing with the octagon shows there’s a clear gap quality wise with these boxes.

What is the best, most powerful, as similar to Octagon/Vu/Enigma 2 box that runs Forever you can get? Fancy spending some money.

Not everyone seems to have the issues you have on the Viarks so maybe iffy psu on yours?
I did change mine even though no issues, just needed it up a bit. Used one from old Sunray 800
Did you do update before the issues occurred?

Checked USALS settings are set correct after update?

Good point that - noticed after the V8 UHD update on the old man's box yesterday it retained the channel lists but wiped the USALS settings.

I use an E2 box for driving the dish here so caught me out for a min that only those settings were reset.

Don't at the moment they have not done a update which means lots of Packages are down

Very easy to set up, TNT Sport off atm, awaiting new patch like some other receivers

How do you factory reset a gtmedia v8uhd with the mars os? I've somehow changed a setting and unable to change the screen resolution from 576!.

When I first got mine I messed this up , black screen on the hdmi slot, sorted by connecting a scart lead, Have you go an old scart lead and suitable TV

Change RGB back to CVBS in the settings, then you can select all resolutions again.

Thanks for the suggestions guys.We got the resolution back to 1080i (helping a mate who has a prehistoric tv) but have a further issue.We now have horizontal lines flashing across the screen (like some sort of interference) at various times on satellite channels and when using stalker.Tried the box on mine and its fine. I've told him to get a new TV unless anyone has any other suggestions?

Did you use the same cable when you tested on your TV. Either ye cable or the connection

We used wifi to connect to his router and tried 2 hdmi leads which are working fine with his old sly box which he uses for the freesat channels.

Normally it would be the hdmi lead or the actual hdmi connector causing artefacts/,lines on a TV screen

You sure his tv can support 1080i and isn't actually just a 720p tv ?

I have an old 720 TV upstairs and viark worked fine on that when I was testing something the other day

yes but did you set the viark to 1080i or 720p ?

So maybe your 720p tv, like my old one, will accept a 1080i signal, but not all do (or do it well).
