checked itvx website and it says

Our app works on Android devices running Android version 5.0 (Android Lollipop) and later.

just thought it would work.

I just prefer to run catchup apps direct on my tv but each to their own.

Support will stop for older operating systems so some updated apps will no longer work correctly on older devices that have outdated OS.

So does this apply for any product like oled TVs & webOS apps?

I think support for LG TV’s is pretty good and other big name manufacturers.
It usually cheaper brand and devices.
Cheap Android devices are notorious for lack of support.
It’s thrown away tech.
