super hub re,booting.

Hi guys, just got my openbox v8 golden sorted for cable but when I go onto movies or any channel, after about 5 mins the hub re,boots, very annoying, is there anything I can do to stop this from happening?.

any help would be great...

This has been well documented - the V8 Golden receivers aren't compatible with the Superhub 3 models.

Only a VPN router would solve this unless you had an old Superhub 2 / 2AC knocking about that you could get re-activated.

I've spent several hours looking into this;

SH3 into modem mode and using a separate router = FAIL
Creating a guest network on SH3 and connecting to that = FAIL
Connecting using direct ethernet = FAIL
Connecting using home plugs = FAIL
Connecting using Wi-Fi = FAIL
Connecting using ethernet switch = FAIL
Changed multiple settings in router = FAIL

I tried other things also but I forget as it was several months back.

thanx for reply, so there is no way around this other than a different box? tried to get into super hub to see if I could change some settings but cannot get in keeps saying password incorrect..

Doesn't matter what settings you change, it wont make any difference - i've been in the same situation. You have a few options; you can either return the V8 Golden and purchase a different receiver or you can revert back to an older superhub if possible or you can try a vpn router but obviously that adds more expense so not worth it imo.

I'm assuming the OP went for the V8 Golden option due to costs... I think it's around £45 for this box so if you want a cheap half decent E2 box, I can't think of anything better than the zgemma h2.h at around £68 on eBay ... obviously there's much better boxes out there but for value as I say, can't think of a better / cheaper one.

looking at all those zgemma posts on cable glitching lol.
i went for quality over cheap as many do later on.

9.9 times out of 10, it's down to user error when setting them up or the quality of cables / splitters etc. that's been used. The only reason you hear of so many people having issues with zgemma's is simply because they're the most popular brand in the market due to their price tag. I have set up many, different variants of the zgemma boxes over the last couple of years and they're all still going strong. I am sure if a better model flooded the market at a similar price to the zgemma then everyone would be going for those then in turn, we'd see a lot of posts relating to that type of box on here instead.

aye user error i will agree on and what a starview 1 would run on then is not good enough for modern boxes.
upgrade cable and splitter and then get a good box.
