SkyQ Skin

If i think on tonight. I will repackage the ipk for chabs as you can't install this via the ipk installer, something isnt right with it. Its a bit much for a non tech person to extract andinstall the skin in the right folders and then also install the custom components in the right place.

For people having trouble installing v1.5 ipk (me included), I have rebuilt the ipk package. This should now work with the ipk installer in software management.

..and dont forget to select tmp folder, and don't forget to press OK first on the package before pressing green.

To Install:

Extract the zip so you just have the IPK file.

FTP the IPK file over to your temp folder. var/volatile/tmp.
(if you do not know how to ftp over to your box, please read my install guide. there is a section in there that covers this)
Bare Bones OpenATV New setup Guide

OpenATV
Menu... setup... software management... install local extension
memory/tmp
Press ok on the package
press green to install.

OpenVIX
Menu > setup > VIX > Ipkg install
memory/tmp
Press ok on the package
press green to install.

Once it has installed you need to set it as your skin.
(OpenATV) Menu... setup... Usage & GUI... skin setup.
(OpenVIX) Menu...setup...System...user interface...skin setup.

Reboot your box just to make sure its installed properly.

Morning Kiddac. I have followed this and am getting the following when installing and the new skin is not showing up Skin Setup. Any ideas? I'm using Wooshbuild btw.

See if you can uninstall the first one via remove plugins, or just remove the folder via ftp. Usr/share/enigma2/skyq

Or try switching to default skin first then install the ipk

Tried it all with default skin applied and still cannot install Skyq skin. It is showing in var/volatile/tmp. I click OK to select it in install local ext and then green to install and still get the same message.

chris_mun... have you ever installed this skin. i.e did you have v1.4 ever installed.

if so ftp into your box and delete the skyq folder that lives in /usr/share/enigma2/

then try again.

If you are still having problems I am stumped. As I had no problem installing my version of the ipk file.

Kiddac no I haven't. I have looked in usr/share/Enigma2 and there is no skyq folder.
It is all very strange. Do you think it makes a difference that I am using a Mac to unpack the ipk?

Kiddac. All sorted. Did a Flash to reset everything which was epic as my USB had decided to go crazy and not work. Now all up and running with an excellent SkyQ skin [emoji1303][emoji1303][emoji1303][emoji1303]

I have just uploaded the sky Q ipk file only to my box and have installed the skin (which is very nice), do I need to install the sky preview and picons? I am also having some viewing issues where the skin does fit on the screen properly and runs off, any advice would be much appreciated

no, I'm using openatv, I used to have kiddac's sky skin, which is amazing, I thought I would have try a different skin (as I am bored haha), but it just doesn't seem to fit within my TV screen properly, need to try and shrink it some how

I tired openatv this morning and the epg was the default skin setup even tho installed the v1.5 so quickly took it off lol just look in the setup and need the user interface that's where skin setup is [emoji3]
