Yes. You need to ftp in your box and delete what you have just installed...Hi chabs I know what the problem is its a piece of your software I added, I just need to delete it and start again, I have an xtrend et8000...do I need to telnet to the skyq folder as that's where I put the new software
I wouldnt know what plugin you have installed. You need to know the ipk file you tried to install for the command to unistall it...Hi can u confirm the commands I need to input to delete said software
You need to change the picon filename to be exactly as the channel name is displayed in small letters...hi
i cant seem to get these picons working? im in VM . are there a different set of picons for VM?
The Skin itself wont cause any crashes as kiddac pointed out. You need to check the crash longs and it should tell you what might be crashing. It might be a widget in a screen that vix is calling which might be missing in SkyQ.Hi Chabs
Can I ask a question about OpenVix vs OpenATV? I'm using OpenVix but i notice you are using OpenATV, which do you think is more stable?
I am having crashes on my Gigablue HD Ultra UE with the latest OpenVix and SkyQ skin V1.5 and just wondered if I would fair any better with OpenATV.
Thanks
Rob
Thanks kiddac. Well explained...Bare in mind chabs originally designed this for OpenPli I believe and converted it to work on vix/atv.
I am very clued up on atv/vix skinning now (couldn't skin pli to save my live), and I have personally checked Chabs' code and it looks error free and there is nothing in it that should be crashing your box.
There are a few extra screens in there that are pli specific and a few vix/atv screens not skinned yet, but none of these will cause you any problems.
All his python components are now originally named therefore won't conflict with any existing core components of your box.
I tested this for about half an hour the other night and not once did my box crash and thats on a barebones atv build on a crappy zgemma 2s
Unless lots of people start complaining there box is crashing a lot after a skin release it is very much likely your build that is broken rather than the skin causing the crashes.
Or you have your box overloaded with that many media plugins, your box is running out of memory and crashing.
It does no harm flashing a new build every now and again, whether the latest VIX, or latest ATV. (I wouldn't flash with openpli unless you know what you are doing and prepared to spend an age setting it up.) Bugs get fixed all the time. Just remember to have a copy of your line before you do.
Ps. I am not say 100% there isn't a code bug in this skin, but I haven't found one yet.
You need to update the image...that is not a skin related issue...it should be an image or plugin issue....Installed the new 1.5 skin on 2 zgemma 2s boxes a friend bought with latest openatv installed. Skin has installed ok but whenever I go to restart the box it just stays on the restart screen and only reboots if I knock it of and back on by the rear switch. Any ideas
