SkyQ Skin

[longside2014]

i've ftp'd ipk file to /tmp folder and followed instructions ;
Menu... setup... software management... install local extension
memory/tmp
Press ok on the package
press green to install
and rebooted

but when ive gone to skin set up it's not there . what have i missed ?

what's the 'telnet command' opkg update && opkg install -force-overwrite /tmp/*.ipk

Use telnet with DCC or putty.

Where you show a picture within the info bar (in this case cricket) I just get the same generic picture (SkyQ splash) on each info bar I select. Have I missed a step in the process?

You need to make sure you have the picon folder from SkyQ Preview.rar in usr/share/enigma2/SkyQ

If you have done this and still get the SkyQ default preview then you must be using E2 Autobouquet.

To sort this check post #900 to sort this problem.

I did see that but Isn't #900 just about adding numbering?

For anybody using autobouquets e2, virtual zap and displaying numbers on EPG and wanting to use skyq preview

To add numbers to SkyQ preview picons. Use the preview picons as your skin picons temporary (autobouquets e2 will add the numbers) then FTP picon folder to your destop then add them to usr / share / enigma2 / skyQ. This work around has worked for me

Yes. The preview files work as Service Name Picons. They take the name of the channel to preview. So if you are using the E2 Autobouquet with channel numbers it adds the channel numbers infront of the service name.

That is why the preview pics wont display. So they need to be renamed and easy way to do it is using the instruction in post #900

Or if your not in a hurry just rename them yourself. You have to go thru all channels and add the number eg bbconehd becomes 101bbconeh, bbc2hd becomes 102bbc2hd and so on . The only other way is to get somebody to post their renamed icons. I had them all done then decided to clean my pc forgetting to save the icons to a safe place then updated my h2s to wooshbuild v4 so back to slyk1 at moment

And now despite starting from scratch I have lost the picons in my epg :willy nilly:

probably already been asked so apologies now. Trying to install v1,4 as i have already had previous versions of sky q installed previous, removed that already from usr/share/enigma2/skyq but getting error saying remove package debris, which i have tried copying command 'opkg remove enigma2-skins- skyq' in terminal but no luck. it is also followed up by a list of collective errors. any help on getting v1.4 installed would be great thanks again

Did you use putty or dcc to remove the previous skin?
