Evening all,

I've had a look at some of the reviews on the LG 55UH661V 4K TV...

Price £599

Tell me what's wrong with it :)

I'm aware that there isn't any 3d which doesn't bother me

Samsung are top quality the only problem is sound quality you need to buy sound bar

With flat screen tv's now being so slim the speakers are rubbish! I would go for a smasung if able they are good screens.

I am an a/v installer and I have installing the Sony 65inch into bars all over the country. There a lovely set with a 5 year parts and Labour warranty. Price is 1595. I myself bought a Sony 50 inch by far the best picture and I've seen them all from lg to pioneer kuro. Cheap, expensive, big, small Sony are the better set. Samsung are full of colour saturation. Lg regardless what you hear will let you down. I prefer Sony from experience and picture quality.

I personally wouldn't be too gone on 4K. Yes it's amazing but really from what I had heard from engineers on the install side of sky 4K is years away at least another 2 years or more. Basically just like 3D everyone was saying you must get a 3D set it's a must have. I just went about installing TVs telling bar owners it wasn't worth the money. Let's be honest here 3D and football wasn't a deal breaker. Now look where 3D is. I give 3D 3 years and it will be something else that makes the tv do this or that. I've seen 4K on a fair few TVs at shows or demos and there stunning but in the home no sorry not for a few years yet.

i have 4k and never use it, the very odd youtube video and that is it
have tired and few clips from my compute, but my 2013 imac wont do it smoothly sadly
have tired converting with plex and it does work a bit better

Yeah 4K isn't that much of an ask because Lets face it, what devices are going to be capable of producing 4K res. just a good picture will do me, even if 4k channels are released in the future, bound to be encrypted and they wont be accessible from cable or sat feeds

what i have seen and read over the last few month and looked at
only 2 option for me sammy and lg
picture perfuct i go sammy there supply lots of panels to different sources

i remember the first lcd i got lg never agaian i thought but hey there cpme along way best tv as now with out dought

1--- sammy
2 lg

my opion

Yes iancable lg are terrible. I'll tell you a story about lg plasmas when they came out it was around 2002 that the price dropped enough so pubs could afford them. So the company I worked for started lashing out the lg 42s by the bucket load all over Ireland we installed them. Within 18 months the failure rate was 80percent. Mainly the power supply or one of the boards in total there was about 45 plasma screens lying around the warehouse floor it was a disaster. And the money involved was ridiculous. So from then on stay away from
No 1 Lg
No 2 Phillips
No 3 Samsung
No 4 Walker.

As usual in life you get what you pay for.

I've got the 43" version. Great picture, awful sound. Easily sorted with a sound bar. Some reviews stated lip sync issues but mines perfect.
