Nas server

Hey guys I'm looking at getting a nas server for use at home for watching films on fire stick and kodi boxes etc.
What is a good starter nas setup?

It depends on your budget but I've always found Synology good.

Brilliant thanks for the links. I had narrowed it down to synology just need to decide on the 1 or 2 bay.

I started off with the 2 bay and a few years later upgraded to 4 bays with 8gb ram.
If it's just for watching films you can sometimes just plug a big hdd into your router and share from there.

Only got a sky router so probs not an option. Was looking at raspberry pi with eternal hard drive.

Give it a go, certainly will be a cheaper option.
You can also plug a drive into an e2 box and share from there.

I set a nas server up using an old laptop, works a trick and didn't cost anything. the laptop thinks it's a DS3615xs :)
